[Nightblade] Should ESO remove the visual indicator from Piercing Mark?

In my opinion yes because marking an enemy should be a premeditated attack. There is nothing premeditated about marking an enemy if he knows you're coming and hold the block button until the mark fades. The 'debuff' should be revealed to the target AFTER the first attack has been made. I mean what half-wit assassin would actually tell his mark that he is going to come and assassinate him. SMH.

P.S.
Don't judge this on the premise of buff or balance. It more on the premise that it doesn't make sense. I wouldn't mind alerting the mark, even though it's idiotic in the first place..., if marking didn't come with a huge drawback.

Instead of the marked target seeing the mark on themselves, they should see it on the Nightblade that cast it (have it work like the unmorphed version, so it does not stop stealth or invisibility). So as a Nightblade, I am the only one who can see who I marked, and my Mark can only see that I marked them. The trade off for Mark is that Nightblades are also affected by the armor/spell penetration from the target. It would be more than a fair trade to flag ourselves if we are able to actually not telegraph our intentions pre fight.

Don't forget the psychological advantage of the pillar. The second people see they are marked they begin to act irrational and seek cover. It works incredible well against oil operators.

I don't mind. I am NB and to be honest i find it hilarious when i use reapers' mark on someone and see him panicking, holding block and try to hide behind a tree while stealhing. then i put a few more marks on him just for fun

Indeed. This is one of the pros for me. It's a great intimidator, and your team mates can also see who is marked and attack that target, but there are times when you don't want your target to see the mark.

I am a nightblade vet 12 and i dont get how the hell you guys can cry about the nightblade class and its skills.

Nightblade is so damn strong! I cant tell that enought... YOU ALL MUST LEARN HOW TO PLAY a NIGHTBLADE....

Zenimax shouldnt do any damage buffs to the skills anymore ... its fine like that..

You still live in that patch were DKs had the most DPS and stuff...

Everything is fine i dont rly get all you cryers... change your build cuz obviously it doesnt work right... play with bow... and most important HIDE and than attack..

No they can't. Only you can see the mark (and your target). This is a key feature of the skill. If you don't want your target to see the mark I suggest marking them right before the attack.

No they can't. Only you can see the mark (and your target). This is a key feature of the skill. If you don't want your target to see the mark I suggest marking them right before the attack.

I always though my team cannot see the mark, but can see the target. I have seen many marked target which i marked from a distance hide and stealth while my group just walked over to him and kicked his buttocks.

And i am pretty sure they felt save when stealthing because they stayed stealhed and did not move until they noticed people where running straight to him.

I gonna have to try this out. Now i am curious.

thats the mark!? always assumed that was some ulti, christ that needs made smaller and less visible, i always crap myself and go into full unstoppable+heal mode when that appears :<

This ability is balanced by the fact that the nightblade loses armor and spell resist against attacks from the target. This would be meaningless if the target has no idea it is active.

I love the mental instability it can create. Reminds me of using Distraction on my Rogue in WoW back in the day and seeing the player feverishly try to find me and break my stealth.

Granted this is useful but generally as a Nightblade, we have the luxury on picking out our targets. This being said you shouldn't need to 'scare' your mark into going into a defensive perma block stance because I would assume you picked him because he was alone/straggler. Assuming the first part is correct, I would want as much advantage as I can have meaning that 75% ignore armor on top of me trying to land a successful Surprised Attack.

If he was notified of my presence due to Mark Target/Piercing Mark then that would force him into said perma block position. He might end popped Radiant Light afterward. Plus with said block stance, my initial burst tanks hardcore. Plus it makes him fidgety/squirrelly and exponentially increases the chance of him popping me out of stealth. Nothing in the latter option actually benefits me.

Agreed. I love fighting other Nightblades. I get a better adrenaline rush when I fight a skilled Nightblade so I would love to relish the challenge

You must of misinterpret the point of the post. I'm not seeking any additional buffs to said skill. I'm just requesting the 'how down block button now' pillar light show to show up AFTER an attack has been dealt. Afterward it can stay up for the remainder duration.

I'm not 'QQing', crying about my class, or such L2P anything. I'm just wondering if they can change this for merely a QoL change.

And lastly your last comment was just rude and uncalled for. I love my build and it's doing fine for me in PvE/PvP. I'm just asking for the pillar visual to be delay. Nowhere was I 'crying'.

Not sure if you were just trolling, anti-nightblade, or just see this as a threat to the other classes. I assume it's a collection of all 3 but can you at least put some kind of insightful comment instead of going total caveman and bashing the idea instead of critiquing it. And in order to give some insight on the matter, I would hope you had played some Nightblade at a high tiered level so you would some kind of a semblance of an idea of what I am trying to seek here. It's easy to say L2P if you have no idea what you're talking about.

I play a NB but don't know what this marking is about. Further more I don't feel obligated to vote (nor have I) on a poll that is so one-sided and vague. It's a yes or no question with discussion to follow. You don't need that third option at all.

In the assassination skill line, you have a skill called Mark Target. It makes the enemy easier to track and kill.
If the enemy can see he or she has been marked (as it is presently) then he or she goes into full defensive mode, making him or her more difficult to kill.

Rather than see Mark Target changed, I would like to see Block only block the frontal 180 degrees of a character.
This way, if I Mark a target and they start blocking, I could still sneak behind him or her and receive the sneak-attack bonus damage and stun.

I don't think it should change for PvP, but it would be nice if your group members could see it in PVE. Sometimes I use it to keep track of who I want to kill first, but no one else knows who I put it on.

Here is an additional suggestion. What if there was a timed delay (say 5 seconds) on when the mark is visible to the player target?

Currently I use it right before I engage in the fight, so if I do not time my movements correctly and/or they move into a group of players.. I lose my chance. On top of that.. they are now aware a NB is near and lessen the chance to pick someone off.

Anyways, just another suggestion to further your discussion

This is why I would like to see a 3rd morph become available to skills in the future. Skills such as this one that is working well, but would be nice to have another version (morph) of the original skill.
