Just in case folks haven't checked the developer discussion page:

forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/118516/the-road-ahead-july-8#latest

Still undecided on some of those colors (I really don't want a bunch of pink cats running around) lots of positive things to read.
On second thought, let's not go to the forums. 'Tis a silly place.

Looks like some good features coming, guess it will be at least a couple of weeks away as it's yet to hit the PTS.

I like the color options. Why limit people to just amish looking stuff. We already have that lol.

Besides, what if someone wants to dye their armor their favorite color? I say let them. The more customization the better.

I'm just happy that a lot of the things I see are suggestions and discussions I have seen on these forums many times (free respecs when skills are changed being a big one). It's reassuring to know that even though communication may be lacking at times, they do in fact listen to players.

No so sure about total mad customisation with any colour anyone wanta... I'm fine with dyes etc, so long as they get no brighter/garish than those posted in the pics.

Heraldry: guild leaders can design guild heraldry for their guilds if they have 10 or more members. Each guild member can purchase and wear a tabard emblazoned with the guild’s chosen colors and crest. There are 250 colors, 63 backgrounds, and 136 crests that can be mixed and matched to form guild heraldry.

I agree to a point, as long as it isn't too....neony. Beside I think most of us know the mindset of our fellow gamers enough to know that there would be people who make their entire Nord's armor bright pink if possible just to make it more demoralizing in Cyrodiil if they kill you.

Hopefully this stuff shouldn't need an awful lot of testing. There's not a lot of balance-stuff required, except maybe for the storefront auctions.

It'll be interesting to see how many guilds take part in that.

Wearing the guild colours sounds good - Now I just have to try and decided which of my guilds I want to represent!

Armor dying... I hope you have to collect the dyes from the world, rather than just applying them for free (or worse, paying gold for them :-P). But it'll be good!

Tempted to make an alt for the PTS, just to experiment with that early :-P.

Interesting VR stuff. I wonder what this "entirely new" system is going to be! Although it sounds quite a way off yet. Good chance Zenimax Online don't know what it is yet either :-P.

I'm really looking forwards to the Quakecon conference. I doubt we'll learn anything particularly new at it - but it'll be interesting to hear some of the lead devs talking about their area. After the AMA with the Audio department a while back, I've been really interested in their progress. So I hope they will be represented! :-D.

Now I'm going to go finally finish Stonefalls, now that the Hrogar's Hold quest has been fixed! :-D.

It's a happy day. Oh, and the FPS thing has been fixed right? I never really had issues, but I wasn't in Cyrodiil an awful lot anyway. Still plenty of PvE left for me to do first! But I'm glad other people don't have the issues anymore. :-).

Ummm, not to rain on the parade, but where's the crime system, Dark Brotherhood, and Thieves guild info? It's disappointing to think something like being able to wear pink, something they said they might add, was prioritized over these iconic TES features they said they will add.

The tribe has spoken I suppose. Yeah I'll be glad to not have to be blue anymore, but I'd rather be wearing a red palm print than a red dress.

I'm going to be positive and say it looks like they realise why their financial projections are tanking and they are willing to meet things head on. I like what I read. Major changes to the dreadfully ill-considered VR system.

Want to see major changes to grouping still. Specifically i want the phase engine to GTF out of the way. I want to group with who I want, when I want, wherever I want.

Overall, there was a lot that caught my eye. Redoing the veteran rank progression and xp gain. More xp for pvp. Far more power for guilds. Nightblade changes still in the works, possibly. Armor dyes and new armor skins.

Very happy with that. I'm fairly impressed with how this game is developing.
Ruze Aulus. Mayor of Dhalmora. Archer, hunter, assassin. Nightblade.
Gral. Mountain Terror. Barbarian, marauder, murderer. Nightblade.
Na'Djin. Knight-Blade. Knight, vanguard, defender. Nightblade.

    XBOX NA
Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.

He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

Its funny, I come from a game where the moto is : the devs are listening and do the quite the opposite. And here half of the forum is cluttered with 'Y U NO LISTEN" and as a new guy it feels also quite the opposite.

From the CS to community handling this game feels way more in touch with its customers. And they are way more active here ( on the forums answering Q's and all ) then I have encountered elsewhere.

It may feel the opposite because you joined during a time where they pretty much got pushed into a corner with what they previously did, had you been here longer you'd feel completely different. Those of us that have been here longer than a day or two have seen the extent of their communication and forum answering.

Oh i'm sure I would, but in all honesty, when an mmo launches, people become brutal and vile. I am the last one to judge, because I just wasn't around. But its just an observation I made for myself.

Still, if this is a new trend its better this way, no?

Except it really isn't a new trend. You just happened to sign up during one of their talky phases and they'll go back to ignoring things like they previously have. They have played things too close to the chest, released things that were never tested on the PTS and they continue to gloss over discussions that have been ongoing for a while.

Take werewolves for example, they haven't addressed any of the shortcomings or problems or chimed in on any of the long discussions on the subject. The only changes to them have actually been nerfs when it's still a bugged and weak skill line and now with the road ahead they finally mention that they MAY look at the strengths and weaknesses. Which is a slap to the face.

I must admit, for me the only real News that I care about is the Dye feature and I love that.

Its also interesting to hear about trading, but I hope that everyone can use those trade spots and not just those that sell from a guild.

That said, he keeps on saying that people want to have VR as easy as 1-50, but who wants this? Its just a vocal minority and fine the change was done, but what about those who want the solo content to be a bit harder at least? What about those that intend on playing with a bit more demand on themselves?

Also the DB, Crime system, housing... things that could cheer those up that lost the challenges in the VR zones...

These things were not mentioned anywhere, its like the majority doesn't matter but those who cry loudest :(

I feel sad that because of a few complainers the whole development cycle seems to be slowed down now.

Sounds negative I know, but I am just very disappointed.

I really really really hope that you're right. But optimism quickly becomes pessimism when hopes are set to high. For now I'll just suspend any hopes of hearing about it at all, that way if it comes up in the Quakecon Q&A or is the main header of their panel then I'll be able to nerd myself over ESO again. Until then I'll just keep my sub in hibernation, anxiously awaiting ESO to coax it from its slumber with its sweet ambrosia...of murder, theft, and crime.

To bad there is not more player contests.

Sounds like they're going to nerf werewolfs... I hope they at least make them more interesting rather than the auto attack machines they turned them into.
We're actually working on a couple contests for players as we speak, and hope to start one later this month. :)

Fun fact, but each of the submissions from the internal contest had an appropriate name to match, such as Poison Dyevy or Captain Altmerica.
