popularly requested alchemy potions in VR

tintin_milou
Hi everyone,

It seems lots of people want a good crafted armor set, weapons, glyphs when they reach VR. And those accomplished crafters are quite in demand! :D

I am not an armor, weapon, or glyph crafter so I have to pay! :p But I am in alchemy - so are there popularly requested potions in VR that I could sell? Or it is the case that everyone is also an accomplished alchemist that he/she does need others to craft potions? :)

Have you ever been in Craglorn or Cyrodiil? If not go there and monitor zone chat for five minutes.

You have some farming to do.

Mountain Flower/Bugloss/Columbine makes a really sexy potion that I would recommend trying to sell.

Yeah the triple triad potion...heals all three stats, and best healing on health.
  • tintin_milou
Ok thanks everyone! I also crafted the triple-stat potions for my own use in leveling. Very nice indeed! :D The downside is the much longer cooldown time than more common potions. :\

Ummm, what longer cooldown? All the potions I craft have a base 30 second cooldown, regardless of composition

Oh yeah. The triple with 300 spell crit and 3 sec invis is my favorite, but hard to make.

I have just sent a stack of doubles with the 300 spell crit to my main. Magic and Health on that stack.

With the recent changes to the vet areas I don't think there will be as much demand for any crafted stuff including potions with the exception of VR12 stuff.
I used to use potions regularly, about 10 per/hour in the vet zones; last night I didn't use one in 3hrs...

    Bugloss + Columbine + Mountain Flower = Best all-in-one Potion (Health/Magicka/Stamina)

Cornflower + Lady's Smock + Water Hyacinth = Best Caster potion (Magicka/SP/Spell Crit)

Those 2 are probably the most used. There are quite a few others that are very nice like Invisibility, the Stamina variant of the Magicka one above, Run Speed, etc.

The second potion is only effective if you are a caster that relies heavily on class abilities. The popular destruction staff builds will not benefit from spell power, so wouldn't a Magicka/Health/Spell Crit potion have greater utility to more players?

The highest ST DPS NB "Caster" build atm includes nothing BUT Class abilities, as an example. Also as far as I'm aware it's the same for Sorcs too. I can't comment on DK/Templar for their ST DPS builds if they are mostly Class abilities or not as I don't know. Also, even though abilities in the Resto/Destro trees scale off Weapon damage instead of a more obvious Spell Damage, they also scale off Magicka and Spell Crit while consuming Magicka to cast.

However the change from Spell Damage to Health would be perfectly fine, I've tried every combo and can't come up with a Mag/AP/Spell Crit potion, though it'd be superior to the one I listed for a non-Templar healer or a caster that's heavily dependent on Destro tree abilities, like Impulse spamming.

Well for a sorc, the highest single target DPS I have seen comes from, elemental drain, crushing shock, surge, mage light, spell symmetry/restoring twilight, and flawless dawnbreaker ultimate, and weapon swapping to apply atronach ultimate when ready and the siphon from the resto staff line. I am not sure that spell power will do anything in this case?

All these spells use spell critical though. Wish there was a weapon power/spell critical/magicka potion available :) (for crushing shock builds)

If it's not from the Restoration and Destruction skill trees it scales from Spell Power (Magicka abilities obviously). ONLY the Weapon tree abilities scale off Weapon Power, which is silly for Resto/Destro but it is what it is until ZoS changes it. Also Siphon from Resto tree won't effect your DPS no matter which potion type you used since that ability is solely for Magicka management.
