Hi,
Assuming I am in the correct session, because is not a technical issue as such, nor experiencing any issues (yet)

Does anyone around here plays the game on 4K resolution, or close to 3840x2160? (or 3-6 monitor configuration)

I would like to know what graphic cards you use and how high your settings are.

I am asking because I would like to buy a 4K monitor, but I do not know if 2 GTX780 3Gb will do, with AA off, or need to sell my GTX780 3GB @1293 and buy 2 GTX780 6GB.

Also I know the limitations of 2 GTX780 3GB, however I do not plan to play Metro or BF4.
I play TESO and going to do so, for years to come, maybe with Beyond Earth on the side after October. So that is going to work until well late 2015 when I will upgrade the graphic card.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I played on 4500x900. Not exactly as high as yours.

I am using a single 7950 (3G vRam) and getting ~30 fps, I imagine due 780 should do well on this game, if SLi is configured and used properly.

On the GTX780 with everything maxed out, I get around 100 fps, that drop to high 50s on heavy areas, at 1080p.

However I do know that AA is not needed on 4K resolution. So I guess 2 will cut it. But I am dithering in the middle because I might probably need 6GB VRAM instead of 3 GB VRAM.

The rest of my system will cut through the game, and I do not worry about it.

    just found a benchmark http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/the-elder-scrolls-online-performance,3789.html

They tested 4k as well in this article. 3GB VRAM looks fine on 4k.

To use 2x780, first you want to be sure SLi is properly supported. I heard people saying it is now supported, but you may want to double check that.

I have a new ASUS PB287Q 28" 4K Ultra High Resolution (3840 x 2160 @ 60Hz) display. I run a completely custom overclocked and water cooled rig with dual EVGA Nvidia GTX 780ti Classified cards. The rig can handle 4k on max settings in SLI with true full screen just fine. It's smooth as butter with across the board max temps in the low 50 c's.

However, there's a serious stability issue in the latest patch (1.2.4.1017325) and the game is no longer stable under ether drivers 337.88 or 340.43. You can play for anywhere from 20 minutes to a couple of hours without any issues and then, out of no where, the game client will freeze up and crash. Over this past weekend I must have submitted a dozen crash reports. The issue is also affecting the players I party up with too.

This wasn't an issue before this patch. From what I have read, this was a patch that included changes to try and mitigate the severe FPS issue introduced by a previous patch. Well, the weird FPS issues are gone now, and instead the game client just fails. Turing down the settings to as low as like medium with no AA doesn't seem to improve the stability. I'm hoping maybe the delay in today's maintenance was in order to address this instability.

...for the first time since playing the game, I've been experiencing crashing as well... Very similar to what you describe (whole game crashes... one time it even forced me to re-boot my modem and router). So frustrating... of course it happened in a group dungeon and by time I got back, while I was lucky my group didn't boot me, they already advance the quest preventing my from getting my skill point... no biggie, but a waste of my limited game time.

I don't run any gpu over $400 so I doubt its a problem unique to titans or to the sli configs...

I'd guess that's an SLI issue. My GTX 780 3G is fine at 2560x1600 for stability, no crashes at all.

Since I got my new SSD and put W8.1 on, the game crashes 5-10 mins into the game, I reboot the PC and can play for hours without issue. (and I mean 12-14 hours)

However that has to do with realtek audio, and is doing it since forever. (30/3)
If I use my headphones (USB 7.1) no issue.

I thought was the graphic card, because is heavily overclocked, along with heavily overclocked CPU but isn't the case.

I am very tempted to go back to W7, where the game and system had no stability issues, but they are EOL in January.

Yeah a lot of people using w8 are having problems. EOL means very little, I'll be running w7 for a long time as I don't expect M$ to get it right very often. I just play games in windose.

I just remembered, I have a copy of win8, bought it the day before it went full price. I may not have saved a thing. ;)

I understand what you mean. Having an MSDN account to get it from, isn't much of comfort either.

I play at 5670*1080. That is 74% of 4k resolution.

How much vram you have is going to be very important. I would not use a card with less then 4 gigs. Some of the new card have 6gb, if you can afford it that would be ideal.

AA chews up a whole lot of memory and the ram needed goes up exponentially as the resolution goes up.

I get 30-40 fps everywhere with literally every option in game maxed.

The firmware in some SSD's doesnt play well with win 8. A driver update for your adapter and/or updating the firmware in the card and/or as a bios update for the mobo should resolve.

You want at a minimum for a single 4k monitor an AMD R9-290/R9 290X, OR an Nvide/Evga Titan Black/Geforce 780 Ti.

AMD R9-290/290X is 150$ to 200$ Cheaper then the Nvidia cards, and the editers choice of PCgaming out of the the above for 4k Gaming. The AMD cards also have 64bit ROP VS the 48bit ROP of the Evga/Nvidia Cards. (ROP is exceedingly important for 4k displays the higher the better.)

Also be aware for 4k displays your going to need at a minimum an 800 Watt PS, each of those cards require 750 Watt Minimum for a single card and 1000 Watt PS is recomended if you plan on doing SLI/Cross fire. (you will only be able to fit 2 titans as they take up 3 slots each) you can probably fit more R9's though as they are a more economical streamlined card. But I wouldn't. The AMD cards are also better on Power consumption and hjave Fan selectors for minimum and max output (you want it on max all the time for 4k displays). But they can be rather loud.
Also your going to want a64bit OS, (preferably windows 7 Professional, Home premium limits you to a max of 16 gigs).

I have ordered a GSync 4K monitor, so I will stick to NVidia.

Saying that, I did apply 4xSSAA (at 1080p resolution, so actual rendering 3840x2160 same as 4K) on the game, by hacking around settings and drivers, and the game copes very well with the 3GB VRAM, and everything maxed out.

So when the 4K monitor arrives, I will not have major issues until the next gen of cards coming 2015.

Alright like I said though be aware that you "will" get better Performance from the AMD cards due to their higher ROP unless you can blow over 2500$ on the New EVGA Titan upgraded Enthusiest Card. (or Dual 780TI cards but in this case for 4k AMD will still win performance wise)

Nah, I do not need a Titan Z to play TESO :)

ROP doesn't matter after all. The issue is if 3GB VRAM will take it or need 6GB.

However it does work, and the game only need 2.9GB at 4K it seems.
See how it goes, in September, and it will be close for the new Nvidia series launch.

    Thanks.

Regarding Windows 8, I have had no problems like that on either of my 8.1 rigs. But Windows 7 isn't EOL in January. It's just removing support for new features. The security updates will keep coming for (I believe) a few more years.
