Can someone enlighten me as to why Aspect / Potency seem backwards?

Shouldnt Potency be the colour rune? And Aspect be the form that the glyph takes? It seems so obvious to me.

And they should -all- stack to 100.

YES please. I can't believe the squares only go to 20.

Update 3 will change it to 100 for the potency stack, see the patch notes for the latest update for the PTS

    Not really.

An aspect relates to a part or form of a discrete object. For example this might be an aspect of a person's personality or of a large problem to be solved. As such, it makes sense that different strengths of a single level of rune would be termed aspects.

Potency, as a descriptor is a bit more of a reach for me. Since this is primarily used to define the overall level of the glyph there are other terms that might have been a better fit than Potency. "Strength" is out because it already has connotations of physical ability. "Rank" may also have presented issues because of the VR system, but at least that conveys the idea of specific level ranges that the glyphs do actually apply to.

All in all, I think it really could have been worse.

I think there should be four type of Runes. Level, Item (jewelery, armor, weapon) Affect and Potency.

Instead we ended up with a cluster that forces 3 Runes to act in 4 ways. Trying to put 4 pounds of do-do in a 3 pound bag always leads to a smelly mess.

Pretty sure this is intentional, to make it less straight forward. I mean, enchanting is an arcane trade, not mixing stones in a bowl.

Ok I can accept that but there should be an easier way to create Glyphs I already have learned. I will have to look for an add on that has a recipe system for Glyphs or worse case create a spread sheet. Crap I hate the idea of a spread sheet, I love crafting but that sounds way to much like real work :)

I'm sure there are several awesome addons for that. That's the nice thing about eso ui, you can streamline something for yourself, without removing the mystery for others who might want it.
