So like a lot of people I've been having problems since 1.2.4 was released, pvp is unplayable with the fps drop, pve is a joke with random loading screens, the fps drop, the invisible mobs and npcs, the data load failure screens and so on.

After 5 mails from me i finally get a human response which seems to have read the full length of my mails describing the issue and not just sending a mail for kicks (i don't count copy paste responses as human a bot can do that), and the best answer by far i got was this (i won't be naming the person responsible for this answer, i'm not a (snip) i don't want to mess with the job of anybody):
Hello Federico!

Thank you for contacting The Elder Scrolls Online Support team!

Allow me to introduce myself! Ahem. My name is X (im not a (snip) i won't burn the cs person that gave me this answer) and I am the most amazing Sorceress in all of the land and I'm here to help with my magic!! Well.. that's how it works in my head at least! No worries! You do not need to create another ticket.

Many of our players have been having issues where their enemies do not appear! Getting killed for no reason does not sound fun at all. However the fix for this issue is an easy one!

All you need to do is press play from the launcher and that should take you to your log in screen. Once you get to this screen, instead of logging in like you normally do, I advise that you please select the "Settings" tab on the left side of the screen. Please then click on "Audio" and turn down Master Volume down to 0.

This is the current work around for your enemies not showing up as they should! Please feel free to reply to this email if the steps above do not resolve your issue!

Points given for the funny response, but this is a serious issue damn it and your fix is telling me to play with NO sound? wtf? if i wanted to play an interactive social game with no sound i would play a (snip) board game, come on.

My point begin here is that don't waste your time contacting CS, they never helped or resolved an issue before or now (last time i contacted them it was about the credit card holding founds thing when the game launched and I had to resolve the issue by myself, thank god that's over) just a waste of time.

Like they say: "Play the way you want" well Zenimax i wan't to play with the sound on

This is just sad, plain old sad

PS: sorry for the bad English im not a native speaker.

I'm not saying it dosen't work i'm just pointing out the absurd of the fix.

Anyways i'm not trying to cause debate here, this was more of a funny, stress relief post than anything else.

Is it all mobs? Certain mobs? Certain zones? I had a similar issue a month or so ago and was able to find a workaround here on the forums. I would be glad to help if I can. :)

What I have figured out is do you remember the monkey pets that were given away with buying Imperial box? Well if you do you now know who the Programmers are. Chim Chim is department head and BOO the Space Hamster is in charge of QA.

All mobs and certian npc's the sound fix probably helps, i haven't tried it, i don't want to play with no sound, i play to enjoy the game, and sound is part of my enjoyment.

That is a weird solution to the problem. I'm sure it's only temporary, but how annoying that must be!

But really, these RP answers to CS issues... Ugh! I mean, it's one thing if they are able to give you a quick, easy fix. Sure, make the experience fun. But if it's going to linger a while before they can fix it or, even worse, they won't be able to help you at all, that roleplaying just makes it look like the GMs don't take your issue seriously. Really bad form.

If you're facing the consequences of their buggy game, they really should be far too busy apologizing to you to take the time to find a clever way to blame Molag Bal or Sithis.

I have to agree that the "in character" Rp'ing CS is sort of silly, (my request had to do with getting access to these forums), but as for the actual advice, as the previous poster said, Turning off the sounds does seem to have been a valid workaround for some peoples issues. (that and turning off particle effects). And to be honest, I don't consider playing with the sound completely off that big a deal. It's far better than not being able to play at all. Heck, I frequently play games with the sound off if there's something good on T.V I'd prefer to listen to. It's no big deal. (I'd consider playing with particles off a far bigger issue)

(Admittedly, I've turned on subtitles, and have the music turned so far down as to be virtually inaudible)

And what did you expect her to be able to do until they get a real tested fix out in a patch?

No, they actually do this...I got a similar response on a slightly different issue a couple of weeks ago.

You wrote a ticket. CS gave you a response. They didn't tell you that there was no bug. They didn't say that you could fix it. They told you one known work around. Obviously as a holdover till a fix is actually implemented.

What do you expect customer service to do? Lie and tell you everything is pretty and perfect? Or be up front?

Gral. Mountain Terror. Barbarian, marauder, murderer. Nightblade.
Na'Djin. Knight-Blade. Knight, vanguard, defender. Nightblade.

    XBOX NA
Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.

He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

As far as the comments against customer support roleplaying, I have to disagree. Its a roleplaying game. They are simply reinforcing the atmosphere. I like it a lot better than getting some coldly impersonal, super professional 'its all about the business, and business is money' that CS usually enforces.

I like that they remind me that this is a game, about roleplaying and fantasy, and that they don't remind me that I'm just another customer who only counts because he has money. I *know* that my money is the only reason I care. I don't like being reminded of it.

I had a little chuckle when I got a similar response, it's the way they do things.

If you are not pissed at <insert whatever reason you've submitted a ticket> then it's fine, but if you are having a serious problem, you'd think a serious answer would be what is given.
Been here since Feb 2014 - You'd think I'd be half reasonable at this game by now...

I got something similar a while back as well, and I say it's fine when they fix the problem, which in my case they did. But if they can't actually fix the problem, even by offering a work around, it does seem a little like they're not taking it as serious as they should be.

there is absolutely no way a zenimax employee should be telling players to play with no sound..that just goes to show you how sad the state of zenimax is. They are so desperate they are asking players to play the game without sound...This is quite funny.

If you reported you had a problem, and they just told you 'we know, thank you', while players on the forums knew a workaround ... is that a better solution?

Perfect world, you wouldn't be reporting a problem. Perfect world, there would be no problems. Perfect world, they wouldn't need customer service.

I'm kinda glad they realized it wasn't a perfect world. And I'm also glad they can give their players temporary workarounds when the game is NOT doing what it's supposed to.

It's not like they intentionally designed it that way, y'know?

I like the RP responses from CS. It's always clear what they mean, and you can always ask them to clarify. No sound is absurd, but at least they tell you in a fun way. If you don't like their RP, just RP that they are not RPing and instead you are insane and they are imaginary voices in your head. Or maybe you want to RP that you are deciphering a foreign language, and undertake a quest to translate what (at first glance) appeared to be RP into boring standard responses. The possibilities are endless.
