Daedric summoning armor toggle...

  • I've been debating whether or not to bring this up for quite a while (prelaunch).
  • It's not game breaking.
  • It's not affecting gameplay in any way.
  • You all will probably burn me at the stake for complaining about such a mundane issue that boils down to personal preference.

So... sorry in advance.

The sorc skill Bound Aegis (I forgot what it's called pre-morph) is a staple part of my favorite build. Been working on this build since beta. Little adjustments here and there as things changed, but I still use the armor toggle.

I doubt you guys don't already know this.
The thing that irks me is it visually replaces the armor you're currently wearing. I would rather show off me mortal kombat gear (Legendary Pact) armor then have to settle with looking like a discoball.

Now I understand there needs to be a visual que for such a thing. Speaking in PvP terms of course. Why can't it be an aura or some kind of pallet swap of magma armor?

Like I said it's a silly thing to whine about I know. I just wish I had some options here.

No, it's a valid point considering the "Current Iteration of Daedric Armor" looks like it was copy pasted from Teenage mutant ninja turtles Shredder costume, and a Transformers Logo stamped on the Chest....

Basically I understand 100%. That armor is Fugly and should never have even been added to the game. How such an ugly armor set (Which is supposed to be highest level motif and an Iconic armor) got past QA in it's current form....

I have no idea, but the entire Fan base wants the guy who designed it and thought it was a good idea, fired for incompetence.

I am surprised to even get a response like this. Love it.
The summon toggle did indeed remind me of shredder! Only more disco.

I AM talking about the sorc skill, basically the same as daedric motif armor but silver. Re-read your post and It sounds like you're talking about the actual armor
which I also agree is fugly.

It's the exact same armor set, just different colors. Even black and Red (if it was that color) wont get rid of the hideous art design of the set itself.

    Yup, just a pallet swap.
If least they can add an invisable dye. That way I can see the gear I'm actually wearing.

I think they should update the way it looks for sure and that it should be different depending on the morph but I can't say that I think it should be a visual toggle.

It just wouldn't be an elder scrolls spell if you could, you are literally conjuring armor from oblivion and wearing it so it is physical armor.

Maybe make scrolls or glyphs or something that allows you to change how it looks or the plane of oblivion that it comes from (so you could pull from deadlands instead of coldharbor style giving it a redish style instead of cold steel)

Even in cold-harbor I have yet to fight a Daedra who's armor is not black and red.

That's a creative idea. I'd personally rather have an aura effect. In oblivion the summoned daedric gear did look like physical items.
In Skyrim they went with these purple opaque aura type items,

What do you mean it shouldn't be a toggle? It's a summoning toggle. Do you mean you don't think the visuals should be toggled? I agree with that It should have a static visual que.

However it is not a costume therefore I have issues with it acting like one.

I know and that makes literally no sense in ES lore there are tons of different variants on the dremora and it depends on where they come from. So far we know of red, green, yellow, and silver for sure.

(though ES hasn't been following this very well since after morrowind)

They should've just made it a holographic-like overlay on top of whatever you're wearing - transparent so you can still see your own armor, but magicky-enough to make sense.

I always imagined it being more like the tech armor in mass effect, which puts holographic orange shoulder pads and chest plates around you.

    PS4 / NA
    M'asad - Khajiit Nightblade - Healer
Pakhet - Khajiit Dragonknight - Tank
Raksha - Khajiit Sorcerer - Stamina DPS
Bastet - Khajiit Templar - Healer
Leonin - Khajiit Warden - Tank

    I know right. Loved morrowind.

Yeah that's along the lines of what I was thinking. It's literally acting like a costume item. Infact it unequips any costume you wearing when you toggle it on ....

I don't use it, just because I don't like the skin. I'm a caster, I don't want to look like a Tank because I use one of my spells...

    So, I'm with you.
