Subbed Today, Are these builds viable in PvE?

Hello, I was considering making a few characters for use in PvE. I played the beta and experimented with a few different character types, so I have a general idea of how levelling in this game works. I'm not super big on MMOs so I'm kind of a noob when it comes to how these games work.

For one of my characters, I wanted to make a Breton Templar and make it use primarily Restoring Light and Restoration Staff to make a healer. I'm pretty sure that's practically the only way to do it, but I was going to have One Handed + Shield as my secondary weapon and use Heavy Armor to make my character something of a Paladin to tank whenever necessary and swap to healing when that is needed. Perhaps this is better utilized with One Handed as my primary weapon and using an Orc and focusing on the tanking rather than the healing, but I felt playing a healer was enjoyable in the beta.

For another of my characters, I wanted to make a Sorcerer but felt my options were heavily limited when I chose to do a light armor Destruction Staff wielding Sorcerer, as all the abilities were practically all of the same thing: more AoEs or Single Target Damage. I was wondering if there was a weapon set that had good CC abilities, so I could use my Sorcerer Class skill lines for my damage spells, then use that weapon for CC to give my character a bit more options to use in combat so I can deal with multiple situations effectively.

Finally, I was considering making a Bosmer Bow wielding DPS character, though I didn't really have an interest in utilizing stealth as it didn't seem that interesting in this game. I haven't looked into the Bow skill line that extensively so don't really know the details on how this line works. Would I basically have to use a Nightblade in order to utilize this weapon set to the best of its abilities, or could I do a Templar or a Dragonknight and grant myself some spells in order to do even more DPS?

Thank you for your opinions on my builds. I'd appreciate if you'd share what everyone has figured out, rather than me spending a good chunk of my time figuring out what works and what doesn't. Obviously there's room for me to experiment on my own once I decide what class/role/weapon to use so I still can tweak my character to how I like best. Thank you again!

Resto staff templar in light armor is one of the best healers right now. They have magicka management issues compared to nightblade or sorceror healers, but having the heavy burst healing from the templar line makes them invaluable in heavy healing situations, especially pvp.

The heavy armor sword and board thing is where you may run into problems. You'd tank fine in that, but if you want to heal the heavy armor isnt going to work, especially with the magicka issues templars have. However, you can tank in light armor just fine in this game because of how the armor caps work.

What I would suggest is wearing 5 light armor pieces (head, hands, legs, feet, belt) and 2 heavy (chest and shoulders) to maintain the heavy armor 'look' while keeping a good bit of passive magicka benefit from the light armor. You can tank or heal in that setup.

One of the benefits to running a templar with this setup is that you can use repentance (a morph of restoring aura) to suck energy out of nearby corpses and regenerate stamina and heal with it. This makes it easier to work with a low stamina pool, so you can focus your points and enchants towards magicka and health.

What you're looking for is a bow sorceror.

If you want to use a bow, nightblade, templar, or sorceror all work well. Dragonknight archer is a 'fun' setup, but isnt as effective because so many of the dragonknight's abilities are close range, and as a bow user you want to stay at a distance.

Bowplars (bow templars) are really popular, primarily because they can use aurora javelin to keep an enemy at distance, and use radiant aura/repentance to keep stamina levels high.

Nightblade archers have some even better synergies with mark target, invisibility, agony for crowd control, and siphoning attacks to keep stamina and magicka high.

    PS4 / NA
    M'asad - Khajiit Nightblade - Healer
Pakhet - Khajiit Dragonknight - Tank
Raksha - Khajiit Sorcerer - Stamina DPS
Bastet - Khajiit Templar - Healer
Leonin - Khajiit Warden - Tank

A light armor Destruction Staff wielding Sorcerer is exactly what I play as main character, with a maybe unusual Dark Magic / Daedric Summoning build (no Storm Calling whatsoever), but so far, I'm quite happy (at veteran rank 2).

Also don't worry to hard about your overall spec. By time your v12 you will have just about everything. On my DK I have all 6 weapons @lvl50, all Armors, all class skills, 4 crafting, etc etc. With skill points in all passives and related skills. Way way to many skill points in this game. So don't worry if you misplace 1 or 2.
