Salt water holes in Bal Foyen also let you catch the Inner Sea Scalyfin.

Couldn't get the rare from the 2 DC Island. Bugging the same way it bugs for The Rift lake ones.

@ZOS_GinaBruno, is this change intended (bugs and crawlers not dropping from critters) or is it a bug? It seems like it should be a bug since you can still get insect parts from butterflies.

Coincidentally, animals like wolves and mudcrabs no longer drop scraps for medium armor crafting unless you're in their level range. I guess a bunch of "always droppable" items got flagged as leveled drops, affecting bait and scraps alike. Quite a pain.

This definitely sounds like a bug. Crafting materials should always drop for sure.

I've been emailing back and forth with support to get the issue looked at since Monday. It just got forwarded to the developers about 2 hours ago. Kinda doubt it made it in time to get lumped into today's patch, but we'll see. Maybe they already knew about it...?

Glad you are on the ball. Just hope they don't wait until Monday to fix it if it doesn't make it into today's hotfix.

Sadly, @Circuitous, I don't think there's an emote for fingerscrossed. But yeah, I'd like a lot of bait before I head to the roost and catch my rare fish...before my scribe does.

I don't fish, but someone I know is Master Fisher now, so I imagine something must be working, at least.
Have heard people couldn't find guts tho. ..that sounded weird xD

I can confirm that all the starting islands' fishing achievements works just fine.

I caught several of the rare fish in Glennumbra last night. I get achievement credit and they stay in my inventory now, so that is fixed. Unfortunately they seem to be worth 0 gold now.

On the positive note, the rate I'm getting rare fish, wet gunny sacks, and advanced bait seems to have been increased. And I'm only see used bait if I use the wrong kind for the water source.

You can still harvest bug parts, and I can you can find crawlers in the jute nodes. Guts are the only real problem to find since they only drop from critters. What I've been doing, and it's not ideal, is working the cycle from river to foul to sea to get minnows to fish in lakes.

I went through 600 worms yesterday and couldn't catch one (and I also had the same thing happen to me at least 7 times that happened to me before while fishing at lake type fishing holes in the Rift where I caught something but the loot window didn't appear when I pressed "E").

I have also gone through several hundred trying for the Eltheric Grouper. Do not understand how some can be getting the Master Fishing Achievement . . . and not only are there no more guts, but the spiders are not dropping crawlers.

I've got the dye for the master fishing achievement, but I definitely didn't earn it... I have no idea why I have it.

I too cannot seem to catch the Eltheric Grouper, I know it works for some but it definitely does not work for others. All I/we get is a succesful catch animation/sound but no loot menu pops up.

The Eltheric Grouper is also not appearing for me after a stack of worms, it is either broken, a too low of a spawnrate or just very bad luck.

it's proboly just back luck because i caught mine after fishing only 2 fishing holes.

I've caught an Eltheric Grouper too, now, after only 3 tries today ^^

Four possible explanations why I got it today but wasted 600 worms and only got the no-loot-when-having-a-catch bug 2 days ago:

1) It was impossible to catch an Eltheric Grouper in the initial update 1.3.3. but this was fixed in the patch that also fixed the guild problems.
2) Stros M'kai fishing has an incorrect loot table with many rare fish entries that are empty. You need to be very lucky to get the right rare fish entry which contains an Eltheric Grouper. (This would mean that I was extremely lucky today.)
3) A werewolf related bug was the reason why I couldn't catch an Eltheric Grouper (I was a werewolf until yesterday).
4) The Eltheric Grouper can only be caught when using Chub as bait (I was using Chub today when I caught it, but used worms before when I couldn't catch it and got the bug where no loot window appears after a successful catch).

I have no idea which one it is, I'm just glad I finally got the achievement now ^^

Thank you so much! While I did not get it on the first catch I did atleast get it. I still think something is wrong with this spawn rate if so many people can't get it with hundreds of worms yet get it without trouble with the alternative bait. I mean, it never made such a big difference before with these starter island fish (and it's still debateble how much it matters overall).

huh i dont know if any of those would be true for me anyway as i caught mine not using chub, on day one of the update, never been a werewolf.. loot table maybey no idea though. i too had the fishing bug where no loot appears twice when i was fishing for it. but i got it in 2 fishing holes. so yeah~

I guess that rules out 1), 3), and 4). So it must either be 2) or another complex reason why it sometimes didn't work for some players (why no loot appeared when it should have). And this problem may or may not have been fixed by now.
