Invisible Enemies Attacking, Quest NPCs Taking Time to Load, Being Killed While in Loading Screen

I bought TESO a few days ago and I've noticed that many enemies that aren't visible will attack my player. They aren't even highlighted for my player so I cannot use any of my unlocked abilities against them. The only two signs of their existence are their icons on my Compass and the damage they're dealing to me. This same issue appears with Quest NPCs. I will have to wait minutes for them to become visible so I may start or continue the quest they give me. Last but certainly not least, I'm getting in-combat loading screens. I am almost always dead when the loading screen is finished. These bugs are the most frustrating bugs I have encountered in this game so far. I trust that Zenimax knows about these bugs and that they plan to correct them or at least acknowledge their existence.

TESO is a great game and has plenty of potential but these bugs and glitches must be corrected as soon as possible. I do enjoy the game a LOT and hope these will be fixed in a timely manner. Feel free to comment your experiences or relate to my issues. I'm trying to be as nice as possible about this but these bugs are seriously giving me a headache to deal with.

I rate this bug second to the PvP fps drop bug, but yes, I'm constantly experiencing this. The first time was during a Dark Anchor, where the only mobs I saw were those in the very last stage. In the last few days it's been getting worse and now even trash mob from questing zones will attack before rendering.

Group dungeons have the same problem: I sometimes see my mates attacking enemies and can see the red dots on the compass, but they won't render for me and I can't target them. I've found I can still use certain AoE skills that don't require an enemy target, but that's it.

Also in dungeons, I've twice experienced a dead mate being resurrected but remaining in corpse form. He'll float on the floor, moving with the rest of, the HP bar on my screen will be at 0 and I get the option to res them, but they're alive and kicking, and using skills that never render on my side.

This probably has a lot to do with the system you're trying to run the game on. My PC runs it quite fine on medium without much problems, but my laptop has quite a bit of problems such as the ones you mentioned on low settings.

This does however seem to be a new occurance. ZOS did something with the newest patches that made this issue a lot more prominent. Before I never even had enemies being invisible for me. Now I actually have it quite a lot. I hope it's something they'll get sorted out soon with a new patch or preferably a hotfix.

These bugs started cropping up after the 1.2.3 patch a couple of weeks ago. I do not have any bad problems, but I did notice the very late loading of NPCs and the occasional loading screen in the middle of fights, which ends up being lethal.

The 1.2.3 patch created quite a few problems still waiting to be addressed, among them a severely reduced frame rate in Cyrodiil for some players. They are aware of this, and they are working on it. They tried pushing out a 1.2.4 patch and a hotfix, but neither appears to have worked very well.

I am sorry to hear that you bought this game right in the middle of its most buggy moments ever, but it will pass. In the meantime, head over to the support section of the forum to look for things that might help, and if you want to take your chances with customer support, create a /bug ticket in the game. But don't expect anything but cut-and-paste responses at the moment, because it is a very wide-spread problem that needs a patch to fix it properly, and CS staff are most likely drowning in support tickets.

As you say, this has only been an issue since patch 1.2.3. Yes, I play on a laptop, my settings are not maxed out (though they're not at minimum either, but I've tried that and it didn't help). The thing to remember here is that the game ran just fine prior to the patch, and now doesn't. I can't simply accept that as a fact of life and go out and buy a new computer hoping it'll run more smoothly, which is far from guaranteed since many people with high-end desktops are also having problems.

The textures are loading way slow. I have a GTX 780 and run off an SSD and I seldom get this problem badly, but when I do it's very obvious. If I get that, lesser hardware will be a problem for sure.

Buying a new system was not really the intention of my post, I just recognized the fact that my poor laptop has a lot of the same issues. That said, they really need to address it as it did all run fine pre 1.2.3.

My laptop which isn't in the worst state is unplayable! Yet my pc runs fine! Means that I can't play alongside my partner which is really annoying... I wish they would stop releasing bugged patches. I'd prefer to wait longer for less bugs!

I've noticed that when I turn off all audio (game music and all effects) since the patch I do not experience these issues. Playing without audio is very, very alien. However I can't help but notice the apparent connection shown in how the audio interacts with the playing experience.

It's very frustrating indeed. For me it's either play with no audio, or be cc'd and killed fairly often by enemies I cannot see.

Been getting the NPC slow loading a lot since last patch. Especially in towns at/near crafting stations !
No, its not my system ( I have a very good system). Didn't get it at all till after last patch.

Turning the audio off worked for me too! Thanks for the tip! I tested it on high graphics and no audio and it runs really smoothly. If you can stand silence, this is the fix for you!

Huh, yeah the audio thing worked! Feels weird to play with no sound though, so I hope a better fix comes soon.
