ZOS understands better now what an Elder Scrolls game is

And I’m happy about it.I will resub for sure and many many people too.
Elder Scrolls is not your Eve online or your Dark Souls. This is a franchise mainly based in beautiful worlds, lore, roleplaying, excellent art, good quests, immersion, exploration, skills and character progression, and then you have some difficult combats here and there.
Their decision to make VR easier is just amazing. People should be able to explore the whole of Tamriel (of course they will be adding more solo content too in the future about other zones from Tamriel to make you feel you are playing and Elder Scrolls game).
What was the poing of making that difficult VR if the zones are deserted? Everybody disbanding, people cancelling the subs… And then you have the whole people saying how good the game was 1-50. Now of course some “hardcore” players, yes that ones that want to rush content and then blame that the game has nothing more to offer, will blame. But that ones will left the game searching for the next one and complete the rally again whatever ZOS do. Those are not the kind of players TESO needs. This is a game based in a franchise with an enormous fanbase and success. You can’t just deny the facts.
So, I think we should thank ZOS for listening to the real TES fans (the vast majority, that’s why the whole internet was plenty of people complaining about VR design).
Of course, this is not enough, then you have that there is not much sense in the “alternate reality” version. There should be new quests regarding your faction choice once you finished with 1-50. There should be more soul in the world that surrounds you. Tamriel should know that you just killed Molag Bal and there should not exist the possibility to help the other factions. They should redesign the whole thing to match with who you are at the moment. Of course this will be more difficult to achieve I guess? I don’t really know.

While I'm happy with the change of mind ZOS have had with regards to VR, it has nothing to do with what an 'ES game' is .. fact is, TES games are single-player off-line not multi-player online and there's a world of difference between them.

Not if you use the name. This can't be another random mmorpg. There are chanmges of couse with a single playe game, but there should be changes too from another mmorpg. People is used to just grind and grind with mmor, this one shoudl be different. VR being that difficult, made the people start to grind like mads and rush the game. This is not a game to rush. There are tons and tons of lore and roleplaying.

If that were true, we would have a lot more storage space. :)

I'm not sure making VR content easier means they understand the TES franchise better. It WILL be great for people that find the game too difficult, like my girlfriend for instance. But I would love to see them get devs onboard that are true fans of the games.

I feel that's a big reason this game is how it is. They treated it like a typical, everyday MMO. Not an Elder Scrolls MMO.

What if this was Molag Bal's plan all along? What if Caldwell is in league with him and sending you to an alternate reality basically undo's the good you did defeating Molag Bal? What if in the main reality, all hell has been let loose on Tamriel, with the Vestige nowhere in sight to stop the carnage? What if the rest of the Companions four have been trying all this time to get you back to the main reality to combat Molag Bal's return? Wouldn't that be an awesome plot twist?

    I don't think they do... yet !

As @Blackwidow pointed out the storage space thing is a farce ! Shared storage between alts, limited expansions on storage, astronomical costs !

The balance (or lack of) between group and solo content (play as You Want???)
    Forced group gameplay... Nah !

The whole bork-up with the interactable loot. It's worth nothing, you get almost no mats from it, its useless (didn't see that in TES games)

'Cadwell's Journal' quests. lets just restrict players travel/exploration by 66%.
A TES game lets you go where you want, when you want, how you want. Geez that has ALWAYS been an INTEGRAL part of TES !

Zenimax may well get there in the end, but they definitely haven't shown any 'real' grasp of what it means to play an Elder Scrolls game !

I understand and agree with what you say. It is not just about changing difficulty what makes the make more ES or less. Ive been here blaming against ZOS these past weeks. But hey...if you see the complaints, the most were about VR difficulty. At least, they are doing something. Seems they listen, so this could be a new beginning.

Of course, this will never be like the SP TES franchise by far, but well, something is soemthing.

Well it could and it is a great plot, but it is not what the games show you.

I'm personally curious to see what they have planned later down the road. I'm talking, 1-2 years. So far, I don't have very high hopes. But i keep praying that they surprise me.

Me too. But this decision made me happy, because it seems they listen. We don't know how much they listen or how much they will listen in the future. But at least, by now...we have a change.

The only way they could make this even close to a normal TES game is to remove the traditional level system completely.

Open the whole world up right away, use phasing to separate people at different level (of 1 - 50 as standard TES games) so content updates can add new quests to all area's for all levels to do whenever they want to.

    Never happen though.

Just opening up the game world so its fully explorable would be a massive jump in the direction of making this a true TES game !

Apparently, everyone is happy swapping to seven pack mule alts.
