Being between the code-monkies and the angry $15/month customers is not an easy thing. We act like aholes often in forums. I am guilty of it myself, I am sure. ^_^
Just wanted to say thank you for timely responses, keeping your cool, and doing your best to deliver info between the company and the customer.

EDIT: I guess I should inform you all that I am not sure I believe this anymore. My game has been sour since the June 24th patch and has gotten worse overtime. I think I definitely understand more of the rage threads now. I have encountered a forum admin that did not keep their cool. I have worked with customer support which were irritating and no help at all. Now, I do not think rage or quit threads should be deleted. I think it is easy to post positive threads, until your game joins the hundreds of others that become unplayable due to bugs. I am being forced to unsub due to bugs; I do not like it. Every bug I have reported has not been fixed. I do not know what to think of any Zeni employee anymore. =(

    For sure. Definitely is a frustrating task for all.
    I am a CompEng. I know the pain of coding and all hell breaks loose. And the pain of releasing something and it blows up in your face. And then grinding my teeth while reading forums.

    Thanks where thanks is due.

    A lot of the game is superb, sadly there are also a lot of problems.

    If the problems didn't exist, the communication was better etc then the majority of the complaint threads where people are showing their frustration would not exist.

    I pay for this game, I am not thanking a company of paid staff for putting up with me any more than I'd thank any other company for a product not working as intended.

    I also hope I'm never rude to customer facing individuals at that company as they are simply doing their jobs and do not deserve abuse.

    Happy to thank any individual whose been polite or helpful etc regardless of whether they are a forum mod or Joe Blogs

    I don't care if these people work for ZOS or Enron, the community managers are still human beings who are wading through an enormous amount of vitriol, and I would be extremely surprised if it didn't take a mental toll. Even if you disagree with what the company is putting out, you could still have some compassion for people who are doing a difficult job.

    Why, they are collecting a paycheck to do it. They can always go back to McD's to work if its too tough.

    How so? Actually McDonalds probably requires more training and skill to do, so I guess you are right there, but I couldnt think of another no-skill first job type job.

    I honestly think their customer service is excellent 0: They are very polite and prompt. At least they even spend the time to read these forums and listen to the players. They're trying. Who knows, maybe everyone will be given compensation for playing the game during these stages.
    Hi there! My name is Vaht or as most people call me, pupsy. I am a somewhat casual PvE and casual small group pvp player. Dude, this game is totes fun and I love playing with friends while in a discord call.

    I only have a dragon knight left to level and then i'll have one of each class at CP rank.

    They are trying. It is a [snip] of an unforgiving learning curve.
    Compensation would probably help. Little in game gifts or toys. Stuff we can use. Or stupid things that are fun to play with.

    The PR people aren't really doing anything though. Questions and criticism are rarely addressed. Or we'll have a promise "look into it" and then radio silence for a month, lol.

    These forums feel a lot like the old WAR forums, actually. Same types of complaints all around. Same responses from the company.

    The mods here definitely deserve some credit. The PR executive should have been replaced a long time ago however imo.

    It is a big job and you can't please everyone. Kudos to ZOS and TESO devs for doing your best and staying professional. This game breaks new ground as it combines the older Elder Scrolls single player with MMO gameplay. I know I've invested a lot of time in this game and find it totally addictive.

    I find this to be exactly backwards. My forum police experience has been extremely negative. It's been a series of non-people who if you look at their comment history, only give boilerplate thread closures, and arbitrate their own code of conduct capriciously and unevenly.

    The PR...you realize you can check this in a second right? It's @JessicaFolsom (http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/profile/4/ZOS_JessicaFolsom) and Gina Bruno, the Community Manager and Assistant Community Manager for ZOS. You can see they're in pretty constant contact with the forum.

    Frankly I think they're in over their heads. Two people handling the flow of communication for an active subscriber base of (possibly) several hundred thousand people? I used to work in that field, and thinking about that ratio makes my heart race, and I don't even work for the company. That might've worked if their job function was only to broadcast news, but this, by design, is a community that talks back, constantly. My sincere advice is to contract a firm that does crisis communication. This is too much for in-house. Liaise like crazy, and in a hurry, because this is a gaping wound that is just spraying arterial blood. They should have contracted a big-city crisis firm when the gaming press roundly crucified ESO in its infancy.

    To look at the optimism they went into this with (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-SRGL57sb0) and see the gulf between hopes and what's happening now, is heart-breaking.

    I'm still quite shocked that a lot more of the haters haven't quit yet. This is the worst forum of any game I have ever played. I do understand the frustration posts and rages sometimes, but the amount of haters and their threads is just ridiculous. They offer nothing to the game and just flood the forums with their non sense, and make new threads about the same thing just to get agrees or any attention they can get... and it's just as annoying to see how many people respond to those threads.

    I know that a lot more of the haters are posting than the people who like and enjoy the game - because the people who like it are actually playing while the haters sit in here all day trying to... lol idk what their goals are but it's like they want the game to fail so they can say, told ya so, na na na na na!

    I've played and enjoyed many games that offer a lot less than this game and we're only 3 months in here. I see a lot of potential for this game and I really enjoy it, and for those simple reason I continue to play.

    If you enjoy the game and want it to continue, then offer some constructive criticism and stop just ranting and re-posting the same old crap.

    ...and wouldn't just make it more pathetic to hang out here, if you have quit? It could just be me but I think that's a very sad existence if it's true. :neutral_face:
