Scammer!

Tonight i was a bit drunk and answered a tell in zone. A person whanted to buy a fortified sweetroll recepie for 4k. I send him it but forgott to check the box "COD" So i sent him and 4000k and the recepie. I have it all on video( fraps) So watch out for this dude in zone chat. He refused to return it to me! I know it is against zenimax guidlines but i am pissed! Watch out for this person

That's your problem right there. Never assume anyone is going to be honest. Especially in a video game where there is no face to face interaction.

If someone were to send me money AND the item, I would give them the money back because it's how I am. But I wouldn't expect someone else to do that if I messed up.

Title of the post is very misleading. The OP was not scammed. He expected someone in a video game to have character and correct his mistake.

Not all dishonest. When WW and Vamp bites were selling for silly amounts I had somebody pay me 15k up front for a bite.
Damn thing was glitched and I couldn't do the bite, gave him his 15k back !

Victim is quite a strong word here. Being drunk and making a clerical error does not make you a victim.

The other guy taking advantage of this may bring him down a level on the trust-o-meter, but its not technically his 'fault' the other guy messed up.

Right thing to do is to return it sure, but there isn't a crime here.

I have had someone send me gold before and they didn't realize it. I contacted them and sent it back. I have also had people COD charge for a lesser amount and I sent them the gold difference. There are idiots everywhere as are there good people everywhere, hopefully customer service does something about it.

Oh, yes. Some signs of a drunk gamer are bad spelling, grammar and punctuation, a tendency to post duplicate "LFG" and "WTS" messages twice or more in a row within seconds, starting a low level character and choosing a name like "asssddfds" and running around in circles in the starting zones while not responding to whispers. Surely you must have seen these people?

Not true. I crafted a full set of gear, and accidentally mailed it to the wrong person (someone whose character name was the same as the user name I was trying to send it to - I forgot the @ before the name). He promptly returned it to me without even being asked (I hadn't figured out what had happened). I sent him a nominal amount of gold as a thank you.
