Are runes the new chinese gold?

For days or even weeks now i am having a hard time to find sufficient runes to level my enchanting.

I do find them occassionally, so i know they are there, but very very often when i go to the places where i know there should be runes i just see them magically dissapear before my eyes or find no runes at all.

Often all other harvest nodes at the area are still in tact, even chests are untouched, but the runes are simply not there.

The magically dissolving in thin air before my eyes and the untouched other nodes and chests make me believe that runes are now hot topic in gold farmer land.

Am i right, or am i just being extremely unlucky?

I always found it interesting how often I could run through an area to farm up some mats and find that all the mats are gone but chests are everywhere.

I camped some areas a few times to see if the chests were just insta-spawning and never found them to be spawning at a faster rate, several to 6 or 7 minutes at a time was common.

Just some stuff I saw.

If it were not for farming wolves for glyphs (hundreds and hundreds and hundreds and hundreds....) I literally have absolutely no idea how one could legitimately max level enchanting.
