Yeah so I misclicked. My answer should be Storm Atronachs. Avoiding the AOE while in melee is a crap shoot.

I don't think I've run into any Storm Atronachs yet. The most annoying monster I've run across by far would be Harvesters. If SA's are worse, I don't think I want to meet them.

I remember in beta when harvesters were one of the most feared monsters in the game... then they got nerfed

Storm Atronachs for me (although Harvesters aren't fun either). As a Night Blade I rely a lot of Shadow Cloak but it just breaks constantly around Storm Atronachs - I think that it has something to do with their electric discharges causing damage; I can't stun them either.

Always try your best to interrupt healers while they're healing themselves . If you are ranged only, try adding a knockback in your arsenal
This is what I was doing already, but that doesn't mean it isn't annoying. I remember one boss fight that was just me versus a healing boss and it came down to me standing in front of him and bashing to interrupt casting and then getting a few attacks in and repeating until he died. I also use Poison Arrow as an interrupt to casters at a distance. I think what I meant in my comment was that healing mobs are always a focus for me, take them out first: ambush, concealed weapon, etc. then worry about the rest. But it doesn't help when two other mobs are bashing and heavy attacking me. If the healer makes it out of the initial onslaught alive it's always a headache, but the that's the life of an NB DW assassin build.

    Wamasu terrify me.

I mean... they may not be the most difficult to beat technically, but... they have a presence that its much more intimidating than many of the others on the list. Not to mention that they aren't always easily visible until they light up!

Although... my fear may also stem from the fact that I was sneaking around shadowfen at level 12... I couldn't kill much in a fair fight, but it made everything very tense!

CC immunity makes Storm Atronachts win by a long shot.

The others I can kite or CC, but Atronachts keep running at you and they hit like trucks. I can't even heal through that damage.

(I'm talking about world boss and Dolmen Atronachts here)

Storm atros are easy solo, I can safely say that out of 10 kills I die only once and that is due to me being stupid or if there were supporting adds around it like at anchors or craglorn. The only one storm atro I couldn't solo was this boss in craglorn quest elemental army ( I think that's the name) due to the 8 or so other imps attacking me as well as the storm atro so I unsurprisingly died a lot till I asked a friend to come as a heal and to kill some imps. Even than that atro usually have less than 30% HP she one of imps manage to burn through my Stam and kill me.

Gargoyles...even with a cookie cutter nb build I still absolutely detest fighting gargoyles.

I have found that the Absorb Magic morph of 1H+Shield skill's Defensive Posture can make a world of difference in one's success with Storm Atronochs. I haven't played with any of the other reflects, but when they aren't pummeling you with their fists, they are using a "spell projectile".

Gargoyles are fine. I fought them for ages during the Rivenspire vampire questline. Even after I figured out what to do, I still carried on farming them.

It was something along the lines of; Brawler (for shield) → Funnel Health (for rejuvenation) → Volcanic Rune (for CC) → Executioner & Impale (for ranged and melee, stamina and magicka finishers once he was below 25%)

That's actually my tactic for most single target mobs. My secondary weapon is usually a bar full of things I simply want to level up.
