Suggestion: Make achievement points viewable by others

Small feature suggestion: Make achievement points viewable by others, similar to games like GW2 and WoW.

Why?

- More incentive to get achievements
- One more thing to "show off" similar to titles. Shows you completed certain hard or consuming achievements

They just need to add more titles for achievements, then people could switch on whatever they liked for more diversity.

Pugs will demand linked achievements for every single thing. No achi = no invite blah blah. Can we please not have that nuisance in Eso.

I understand it helps if you want to avoid inexperienced players for progression content. Fair enough. But it always turns into achi-hysteria and gets completely out of proportion. I can totally see it: "LFM defend Alessia, link at least Lieutenant, Tremendous Healer and VR 12 for invite".

Not to mention, it forces people to find active guilds to get achievements in the first place...so they can join pugs. Active, organized and helpful guilds aren't that awfully common in this game right now, mostly because people quit. Adding achievement requirements on everything wont make it any easier for new players to get into the game.

More titles for achievements but that's it.

GW2 should never had made the achievement points visible by others. It created a toxic community where the amount of achievement points you had determined if anyone would group with you or not.

Same as in ESO, there is no inspect player feature for gear and stats, therefore players will use that number to judge how "skilled" you are, even though achievement points say nothing about ones skill. Same reason gearscore was a terrible idea and the add on that allowed you to see other players damage. Its starts with the elitists requiring dps checks, or in this case, achievement point checks and It doesn't take long for others to follow suit.

In an MMO where the endgame is timed "raids" this would lock a good number of players out of the content because they aren't achievement hunters.

Now if we were able to see another players gear/stats/attributes/slotted abilities/buffs/mundus etc. I would agree with you. IMO it should be all or nothing.

If it's a toggle option sure.
I don't want people snooping at my achievements. :P

GW2 had repeatable achievements, which meant time played was much more correlated with achievement points.

ESO isn't like this, thus won't have this problem (if it exists at all. I played GW2 for a full year and didn't see this)

    I say NO.
FYI - There is no such thing as 'night capping' in a world wide MMO.
FYI - There was no paid Beta. When they launched the game the Beta was over, even if you don't think it was.
    FYI - It's B2P not F2P. There is a difference.
FYI - It doesn't take any player skill to mash keys or buttons in this game. The ones that stay alive longer have the better internet connection and speed.
FYI - The game is not broken, it still works. It just has 'bugs' that need to be fixed.
    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

Example: There were hundreds of Jedi and only two Sith in Star Wars. The Jedi wanted, "Balance in the Force" and they got it. Now there are only two Jedi and two Sith.

    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

    No achievement = no invite

This will ruin pugging for sure.

I like it . Why not a but of competition as long as it ends there and not inspect etc etc

No, freakin, way! Your achievements are your own, on each char!

Sure, some of them means less because of addons and google.

But some is an actual achievement.

Your statement that a raid/group whatever demands you to show an achievement before letting you in, I don't see happening much, even at all.

Why? Because you could have every achievement in game and still SUCK at a specific encounter, or not be very good in teamwork.

ESO brings interaction together. Sure, you group with people you don't know.
That's how you get to know someone

This is another thing that ESO will differ from other games.

And just because I have 5 achievements in the undaunted, does NOT mean I am good. It means when we did it, the group was good.

Public groups forms much better if they actually learns to know eachother while grouping. Maybe you even find a future group friend and a possible guildie.

And just because 99% of wow players don't believe a single thing unless you link something, doesnt mean the player type in ESO does.

A pug asks if you have done the encounter before. You answer yes. Invite, go kill! Some people do still have trust you know =)

But..but...if you have to have DONE it before then how do you ever get a chance to do it the first time?

How did I do it in the first place? :-p

Ok, I am a social bugger. Most instances level 1-50, I did with pugs, or 1 friend and looked for others. YES, I had a lot of failures and people leaving group.

Hell, even one instanced dungeon, the one in rift with a pirate theme, but a beautiful beach! Think that took 4 hours before we where done. Including 2 people leaving, waiting and looking for 2 more.

It CAN be done. Just have to look for people, have patience and accept wipes.

A guild and/or friends is always the best chance of good groups.
But you do find friends in the game by grouping. sometimes when I bounce around in Vet areas, exploring, questing, running from trolls, I do group up with any unknown in zone chat.

I cant say that most been good, but some are on my friend list, and a few ended up in guild =)

What I was getting at..is that if everyone starts to ask about if you did something (and asking for the achievement as part of this theoretical conversation) then folks find it hard to DO these things to begin.....
