Hireling Question

I have the perk where I can get two emails per day. I know you need to log in to get the emails but I have a question. If I am online and my 12 hour time comes for the second email WHILE I am playing, do I have to log out and back in to get the email or will it just deliver?

I asked in zone and had 50/50 answers about it. Half saying if I am online it will deliver and the other half saying no you have to log out and back in again.

Technically it comes in game, while logged in, but you may not see it until you travel or res. It does seem to be a bit glitchier now than it use to be so it wouldn't surprise me if some had to log out/in to get it to show up.

Is it normal to receive nothing from hirelings?
Not long time ago, I got around 5 times empty mail. He/she still sent me a story but no items. :<

You'll need to change zones, use travel shrine or log out/in to receive those emails

You don't NEED to log out/in while online to receive Hireling mails, however the whole mails system is a little buggy so this isn't a bad idea to "force" the mail. They will come at the appropriate time each day on each character you have them pointed that is logged in. For any alts that have Hirelings, yes you will have to log over to them at the appropriate time each day to spawn the Hireling(s). You should not be receiving empty Hireling mails. I've had all (40) with my 8 characters since about day 6 and not once have I ever gotten a mail with nothing.

On an unrelated note there is a thread here asking ZoS to change the mechanics to 20 hours and 10 hours for Hirelings (1/3-2/3 and 3/3) since having them on a full 24/12 timer makes it difficult to always be logged in at the exact same time each day. I'd suggest popping your head over there to take a quick read. It's certainly a good idea and in line with other long CD's the game has like the 20 hour Horse feedings.

It should come regardless, but sometimes it won't pop until you rezone or relog.

Assuming it's working right. I'm not sure it is. Several times I've not received my second delivery, despite being online enough, relogging, etc. This is in addition to also receiving several blank hireling emails. (And never getting a response from several help tickets filed on both issues).
