'Cleanse Now!" huh?

I'm getting the 'Cleanse Now!' msg on screen and have no clue what it means, what I'm supposed to do, or any of the other who/what/when/why stuffs involved.

My 'toons are lower lvl sorcs, always fighting alone, no other players around, and nothing special happening besides a fight.

I have Crystal Blast I, Endless Fury I, and Consuming Trap I and Grand Healing IV on my bar and I'm using a resto.

'X' does nothing I can see, there's no synchronicity that I know of, and I keep getting the impression there's something I ought be doing.

Google has not been my friend.

Yeah, I noticed this the last few days, I'm guessing i have been affected by poison or something but I wasn't aware that I have a 'cleansing' ability.

I haven't seen this. Do you use addons? Was it a specific quest, or just happening randomly?

Can't speak for other classes, but sorcs get a dispel in the Dark Magic tree.

It comes from the Combat Cloud addon when you have a debuff.

This is what I got from AlienDiplomat:
"The "Cleanse Now" is part of the default game, much like the warnings that tell you when to block. However, it is Combat Cloud addon that is telling you. Basically this means you have been affected by a DoT or other negative effect (bleed, curse, etc.)

You can go into the Combat Cloud addon settings and tell it now to give you these warnings for each type."

I haven't bugged him for a specific response to me, as I figured that any response in my emailbox would also apply to other people in game as well, and I saw no purpose in being the sole recipient.
And I didn't want to put all the pressure on AlienDiplomat to take all his time.

Either way, I was asking for general game advice from the general game population.

Sounds interesting, will have to watch in game for solo and grouping feedback. I'm not sure I've ever seen a game warn a player to cleanse, could be useful in groups.

You answered it yourself in your latest reply.

If you have a cleanse, cleanse it. If you don't, turn off the option of having a warning.

As an example, I got the msg within 0.5 seconds of an imp hitting me with a stream of fire in single solo combat at Smuggler's Cove, Auridon.

I've never seen any ability in the tree that mentions 'cleanse' on any of my 'toons.

'Cleanse' is a generic term for removing debuffs/damage over time attacks, that's all. It isn't generally used in actual skill descriptions, it is slang, if you will.

Cleanse is a term used by the addon you installed. It's not used by the game itself, and thus you won't find any reference to 'cleanse' in the skills. You'll need to find a skill for your class that accomplishes the same (ie.. Nightblade's invis skill morphs to remove debuffs).

This is my only XP with this type of game, my only MMO besides this was DEFI, and that one hardly counts.

Templar's got one that will remove 2 debuffs in the healing tree....there's also a "cleanse" power in the support tree under pvp. (Glad you figured it out, didn't know it was an addon).
