New lootable weapons and armor.

"NEW LOOTABLES, LIGHTING, AND MORE
You'll find lootable weapon and armor racks, beautiful interior lighting, and a host of fixes and improvements in Update 2."

Then I remembered...

Pick up Armor and Weapons
  • Weapons and armor found in the world can now be picked up and equipped.
  • These items are low quality, but can be used if needed.
  • These items sell for 0 gold.
  • These items can be upgraded through crafting.
  • These items can be deconstructed, but yield very low inspiration and rarely yield usable resources.

Is this seriously a selling point?

Yes, yes it is. Apparently the point of this game is to make it just like Skyrim, when its NOT; its an MMO!!!!

Far too many characters to list any more.

If it was like skyrim it might actually be enjoyable lol. At least you could pick up stuff from enemies and sell then for gold every time. I don't like this 0g junk laying around and taking up loot container space. I have no clue why the devs did this. It's completely pointless to me. Same with the lighting. It's as if I'm buying a car and I see it has no engine and I say "hey this doesn't have an engine" and the salesman just keeps referring me to the other features of the car. Wish ZOS would just work on fixing existing issues rather than trying to add useless features and meanwhile break things with every update.

I cant work out what the point of it was.

I get that its nice to be able to pick stuff up that is lying around and it adds to the fullness of the game world. Not many MMO's out there that you can do that, but this is just junk items that nobody is going to want to pick up. If the day comes that I need to grab a junk sword from a table to fight an opponent I will be amazed. But since the game engine wont allow me to equip it if I'm in combat, my far better sword is already going to be slotted and many attacks use magic and can be done unarmed I just don't see this as ever going to happen.

Nice enough option but plenty of more important things could have been added.

There are two different things going on here, first, as in the picture above, there are items in the world you can now pickup... they are low quality, can't be sold and are worthless for crafting, the items in the world like this should be able to be interacted with, it makes sense...

The second is the containers, about half of what I see in containers is crap, useless pack filling crap... before you got lockpicks, more then you will ever need, stale food (I did see some "Greef" in a desk, almost grabbed it just to give someone Greef) Motif Stones, Provisioning Supplies, recipes, and every so often, a Motif... now, useless weapons and armor...

Keep the intractable items, get rid of the container trash.
Of all the things I have lost, I miss my mind the most...

I dont see the point in making stuff pickupable when it is useless. It isnt even worth any gold, there are no decent stats for anything.I am disappointed. Why do they do this to us when we have paid a good chunk of money. Why not just make it like any other piece of armor or weapon, with the same stats. It isnt like they are making money by you purchasing stuff at merchants.I mean, most of the rewards we get for quests are already cheap,so why not give us at least one good break.
For this they use their 'valuable time'(as they say) when they could be fixing broken classes like the Nightblade.Oh,wait,..that comes in the NEXT great patch,..whenever.
I love this game,but,man,..there are times I wonder if it's a good use of my money when I am saving every other cent to go to Germany and the Ukraine.

0-o Agreed Sturmwaffel, I SOOOOO don't even understand or comprehend in ANY way why even one iota of manpower/art design/intern practice was used to put this in. Perhaps SOMEONE can shed light from a devil's advocate point of view on these pieces of literally near-useless items lying around???

This is something that makes the game more alive and your not happy?
Do you really think that they can fart gold? This is something that might not be big, but there where tons of ppl like those in this topic that kept on bitching about not being able to loot items from weapon racks and from other locations.
Now you have it, and still want to cry about it?

Sorry to say but please gtfo, Zenimax + Bethesda did a great job with adding this to the game.
    Be happy for a change!

Yeah but when they get around to implementing the thieves guild and it becomes a crime to just steal stuff off tables you can bet they'll add a value to them all then.

Point I guess was to add more items in the world. Several interviews stated ESO will be a living world instead of a static. You could pick up a cup....

All the random *** that I picked up in Skyrim is why I had to use mods granting 600 inventory spaces. The add-ons to only someone alleviate that pain in ESO require much more effort and constant updating.
End the tedious inventory management game.

They didn't do it in a way that makes sense however. Being able to loot items in the world does improve immersion and is normal to the franchise. But making them worthless makes no sense and isn't really necessary. I am not going break it down for you how ridiculous and illogical the implementation is.. There are about 10 other threads in which is has been pointed out already.

Game breaking junk/trash is game breaking
Especially since inventory/item/bag filters/addons are now frowned upon like junk destroyers ie Wykkyd's Framework that does not pick up this crap and/or (auto) destroys/sells items marked as junk.

Lootable content from world? Sure, but only useful one.

There is thing called "vendor junk" in most games, no point in not making it same here. Except..

Yea, there is masterplan behind this and everything else. Its very simply trick thats there for one purpouse only.

    "It increases playtime!"

More junk they put into containers, less good items you will get and since you get less good items, you must play and grind those items for longer time, thus you in theory waste more time doing this and might subscribe for another month.

Thats if you dont reach your tolerance threshold and just cancel and leave.

If you think about all those little or big things, that FORCE you to do something for longer time than is sensible, then you will most likely realize that Im probably right. They dont have content, or are unable to provide it, so they do artificial "slowers" in some fools hope that it will work.

It surely will, good way to get rid of more players.

The junk armour and weapons wouldn't be so bad if you could atleast deconstruct them for base mats like ingots/wood/leather.
They would then be atleast half worth picking up since most of the 'natural' ways to get said items are constantly farmed by bots.

Don't give traits but why not base items???

In order for craft leather armor, I need to kill the mob 100 million times, in this, not asian game.
In my bank lying 1000 Great Soul Gems and 1000 potions of each type, that I grind in Darkshade Caverns.

MMO world make a lively not pile of useless crap that you can put in your inventory.

In EVE Online world is lively, without any landscape.

    In ESO world is this:

Living world is only possible in the sandbox.
I have not seen an MMORPG in which there was the really living world.
So shall bring in order the things that are already there and do not make useless content.
