Can i craft better than level 50 gear?

Hi.

I am soon to be level 50, and i was considering crafting myself some level 50 gear with set perks on, and also upgrading it to legendary.

But i hear that you can get items in the veteran zones that are stronger than normal level 50 gear, and that raises a concern that no matter what i craft, it will be inferior to other things. So now i am scared of crafting anything.

Any advices and insight on this matter?

after level 50, there is Vet level 1-12. Once you are 50 you will start in these vet zones, so you aren't done yet

Once you hit level '50' you become Veteran Rank 1. So yes is the answer to your question but you will need to craft VR 1 gear and not level 50 gear.

If you stay on top of your crafting traits, crafted gear is the best. Once you hit level 50 it turns into VR1. You can make gear till VR12 with different materials. I'd wait till your VR12 to use up those legendary items. And pay attention to level raises, you could make all you gear legendary and have to do it all over.

I make new gear at VR1 VR5 VR9 and the last set at VR12. So many materials why not make it every level? Its up to you.

Once VR you pick up VR gear and craft VR gear (VR1, VR2, VR3, ect). You really don't need legendary gear in early vet levels unless you just like them and have plenty of upgrade materials. Otherwise I would save those.

I think level 50 item has the same stats as VR1 item.

advantage of crafting VR1 item is that in VR zone, you can't buy any enchantment for level 50 items.

crafting skill materials level 6 is vet 1-3 gears
you can craft till vet 12

Build gear every level if you have the mats, just do not bother upgrading past greens, blues at most until topped out.
