"The negativity on these forums is uncalled for."
"The positivity is uncalled for (= fanboism)."

One way or another, there is too much emotion here!

We need to take a step back and assess what is it that we really expect from this, or any game—and why we expect it. Could it be that we want something that ESO cannot possibly give us? Is it perhaps in truth Lacan's "Objet petit a" we're after?

Your forgetting, their insults, and flaming is righteous, ergo it can not be considered such.

That sums up the internet nicely.

You point out the flaws: you're a whiner/hater.
You point out the good points: you're a fanboy.

Moral of the story, you can't win.
I'm a man of few words. Any questions?

I love video games and Elder Scrolls and a good forum brawl as much as the next gamer, but the level of super seriousness over this game by both ends of the spectrum kind of overruns those of us who are mellow and in the middle. It's a bit disconcerting at times.

Tl;dr really weigh the fun you have in game vs the business practices you are supporting.

Don't forget the grammar police who can also pick apart a completely neutral response! :p

But it's all the same thing really... when someone can't come up with an intelligent response to the point you are trying to make, they instead resort to attacking HOW you said something instead of acknowledging WHAT you have said.

People do this "in real life" too, quick to point out that you are using insults or raising your voice in an attempt to avoid acknowledging whatever unfortunate and most true thing you just pointed out about them or their behavior.

    *shrug*

I have yet to figure out a way to reason with people stuck on that method.
