Many people may already know this, but I discovered it last night while experimenting with my graphics to improve performance, post-patch. The fix is mostly for people with mid- to low end graphics cards and computers.
Adjustments may vary depending on your hardware and monitor. This is only a suggestion but it only takes like 2 minutes to test.

The problem: Post-patch I lost several FPS, probably between 5 and 10 depending upon the area. Also the graphics in my game went to bright and bland. It wasn't a saturation issue, it was a dynamic range issue. It was as if the shadows had lost their impact and there was no definition or depth in the game any more.
The (partial) solution: I began playing with my graphics settings to see if I could fix the dynamic range issue and discovered a quick way to get a boost in FPS. I was playing with texture quality set to high and subsampling quality to medium. I reversed those, setting subsampling to high dropping the texture quality to medium, and picked up about 10 FPS.
In fact, in testing the subsampling, I discovered the that the FPS benefit from low to high is only about 1-2 FPS, but the visual benefit is amazing. My in-game visuals improved dramatically.
The next thing I did was to adjust the gamma down to about 20-25% (from the left). This brought back a lot of the dynamic range that I lost in the patch, and seemed to bring out the details on the textures. This gave me enough FPS to bring some other graphics features back.
Again, no promises but it worked wonders for my game.
