Announced already:
Theives guild: I would like all the skills to be directed at lockpicking and pick pocketing with a few in stealth

Dark brotherhood: I would like 1 invisible ability, and the rest I'm not sure. But as of right now only one class has invisibility. So another similar but different abilitie would be nice.

Not announced: tell me what you guys think

Necromancer: reviving the dead

Undead: exclusive to werewolf and vampires. Give them abilities to combat hunters.(not destroy just stand better chance)

Priest: some group healing abilities, and prayers that buff group

Is there a deadric prince if rage? If so if like a guild devoted to him. And have the abilities deal with agro. For those who want to be a pure tank.

Some guild that opposes the worship of evil!!! Tired of seeing everybody wanting to be vampires, werewolves, assassins and the like. It says a lot about the direction of society when evil is THE cool thing to be. (And just for the record - especially assassins - they are paid murderers. How badly have we gone off the rails when games somehow try to paint them as misunderstood good guys?)

Bard. It doesn't even have to offer useful skills. Could be all sorts of silly, non combat stuff. Maybe it gives extra emotes or something.

Yeah, that's what I was kinda thinking. /lute /flute and /drum are already in game, but maybe the Bard college could teach us to sing as well as play, or to play more than one tune.

Thieves Guild: Active abilities focused on dodging/avoiding damage, escaping combat, and one that has you flipping over your enemy to stun them. Passives giving bonus damage if your target's back is turned, increased sneak speed, and theft/pickpocketing. More about defense/evade skills, not focused on damage dealing.

Radiant missions sending the player into various houses and structures to loot items of value in a 'pickpocket' or 'lockpick' mini-game. Failing the mini-game calls the law onto the player and may result in jail time/exp lost. Some items can be stolen in the open world, with an appropriate amount of timing and stealth.

Gold payout if mission complete, plus selling stolen goods to a fence. New 'Bribery' passive allowing players to slip some gold in to make quests easier.

Dark Brotherhood: Active abilities focused on marking and following a target, a 10 second invisibility (with player debuff for use, meant to evade, not for active combat), with a second assassination synergy ability that allows 10x crit damage on target (one shot or almost) IF you previously marked that target, and are in stealth (not invis), and behind the target. Best sneak attack damage and combo's in the game, open to all. Passives focused on not only doing more damage, but also boosting damage when targets are killed. Low DPS opportunity, high spike damage, high cost of skills, makes user weak when they attack.

Radiant missions sending the player out to take out various NPC's in the world, many of which are innocents or at least non-combatants, at the risk of being found out by other players or good NPC's, which may result in open attacks against the player. Gold payout if mission complete, plus access to temporary 24hr buffs by the Night Mother.

Dawnguard: Active abilities focus specifically on vampire/werewolf threats. Separating fighters guild from dawnguard, daedric from cursed/diseased. Focused spike damage abilities that are rather useless against normal mobs, and are high-cost.

Radiant missions sending the player into spawned 'nests' of vampires or 'dens' of werewolves. Gold payout for each set of vampire teeth or werewolf pets looted and retrieved (yes, players can be looted for this), plus access to temporary abilities used like trophies.

Morag Tong: Official assassins who can kill openly, but must have writ of permission from local government. Focused on tracking opponents and debuffing (revealing weaknesses, as they are spies as well).

Radiant missions sending the player out to kill known NPC's, often in the open, or spy on NPC's to retrieve information. Includes variations of 'lockpick' and 'pickpocket' mini-game to retrieve or plant evidence, though stealing isn't allowed. Gold is rewarded on complete, as well as special access to world and dungeon/delve boss 'dosiers', giving the player a temporary buff against that NPC. Extra gold bonus for killing Dark Brotherhood members/players.
Ruze Aulus. Mayor of Dhalmora. Archer, hunter, assassin. Nightblade.
Gral. Mountain Terror. Barbarian, marauder, murderer. Nightblade.
Na'Djin. Knight-Blade. Knight, vanguard, defender. Nightblade.

    XBOX NA
Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.

He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

Just look back at 1977 for one good example. Small, whiney and otherwise rather pathetic hero somehow triumphs against massively overwhelming odds and a large, imposing and ruthless bad guy. Luke versus Vader.

It wasn't Lucas' intent to make Vader so much more popular than Luke, but it spoke to a part of our conscious that is based firmly in reality: the little man, the underdog, doesn't often win. In fact, they almost NEVER do.

And having him win off of something which can otherwise be called 'LUCK', well, that's just icing on the cake.

Actually, I'm sure I can find older examples of iconic hero-villain combinations where we were subconsciously convinced, not to like the villain, but to hate the hero, or at least, that hero's work outside the law.

1962 an anti-hero named Spiderman (smart ass, skinny kid with serious social issues). Faced villains such as Carnage and Venom, Dr Octopus, Green Goblin)

1939, we had Batman. You probably know how much of an anti-hero he's transformed into, and how much we like Joker (whether it's Heath Ledger or Jack Nicholson)

1933, Lone Ranger worked outside the law with his little Indian buddy.

Obviously, we can go further back for stories associated with rebellion, overwhelming odds and taking matters into our own hands, with stories related to the Renniscance, King Arther, the Crusades, etc, etc.

My point, overall, is that idealizing 'assassins', murder, death and rebellion are not modern trends. If anything, they seem to be traditional values in many, many cultures, wrapped up not only in our legends and stories and religious icons, but in our government figures (American Revolution).

Definitely, I'd love to be able to play songs from the soundtrack & the taverns. The ability to improve with other players would be cool as well.. Also, access to more instruments would be nice.

this could be a great & much needed time sink if done well!!

    Emote guild. Think about it.
Love the idea of a musical guild. So long it doesn't involve cheerleading "undaunted, undaunted, we are undaunted".
    Edit:
    Also
Undertakers guild. Duel wielding embalming tools.
Crafters guild or guilds. Culinary, Fabrication.

I think this is a great idea. It could just be a quick add on or something more developed like the Bard's College in Skyrim.

As I write this, I could see a bit of functionality and questing added. Players could form groups and play at taverns. :) May sound silly, but several of us play while we're waiting for Dolmens to come up.

I hope they code the music playing eventually to where if you're within a certain distance to another player you sync up to the melody of the other person. I won't feel so bad whipping out the drum during somebody rocking the lute if they do that lol

It's not so much a comment on society as teenage angst. Teenagers rebel against the norms, before they realise the norms are there as they work well and are enjoyable. Wanting to be the bad guy is part of that.

Add to that the fact that gamers often don't really want to grow up most of the time and you will have a lot that like the evil arch types.

It's why sith was overplayed in SWTOR.

Now myself I'm a goody two shoes, always the good guy type. I could not bring myself to play sith or evil as I'm fundementally opposed to it.

I like my scoundrels and rogues though, they are still good guys just not clean cut.

I do g think playing evil characters is indicative of society as a whole (if has deteriorated, no doubt about it), but it's more a phase many go through while forming thier own identity.
