So let's pretend that this game will make it a full year (stop laughing, it could happen)
So We pay 15$ a month, now lets say that with good weather and such that, we only lose 2 days a week, due to maint/patch/update/rollback/wehavenothingbettertodo/random crashing/forever loading screens

That basically boils down to my 1 year sub is in all actuality 8 months of game time...

But ya know, they gave us 5 free days at the very start to say "Opps, sry, we're idiots and can't figure out how to make a mega server wrk"

Well, if you count the time you're sleeping, you lose even MORE time! Should the company compensate you for that time, too?

Even if you play just an hour a day, that means that you're paying the company roughly 50 cents per day (or hour) to play the game. That's REALLY cheap entertainment.

Also, unless the downtime happens to coincide with the only time you can play that day (happens to many in other timezones or with different work schedules), the downtime for maintenance doesn't ruin a whole day of gameplay, so you should factor that in as well.

So far this week, we've lost about 12 hours of gametime, which is much higher than the past few weeks, but let's say that somehow that becomes the average. 12 hours for maintenance divided by 168 hours in the week = 7% of the week. Times that by 52 weeks, and you get about a month (3.7 weeks) of downtime over the course of the year, not four months.

To be fair, since we don't know where the OP is from, the maintenance might be during his only playtime during the day, so that would equate to losing a day's worth of playing to most people.

I think you math might need some polishing. Those two days a week are not 24 hour days. As much as they screwed up the last patch I have never seen 24 hour maint in this game. Probably a fair average is 6 hours of downtime a week maybe as much as 8. That is 13-17 days not four months. Still quite a lot actually by most MMO standards. Even if they were 24 hour downtimes twice a week it still wouldn't be quite 4 months of downtime a year.

I only have enough time to use the internet in my apt in about a 4 hour time span a day, wonder if I can get them to lower my bill for my habit of not using it as much as I could when it's not down.

I don't loose any days, ok I lost two hours on the last patch, and the odd couple of minutes here and there. But the EU server usually has maintenance when I'm asleep.

So my 1 year sub is actually a 1 year sub.

They're reinvesting your stolen game time into low risk high yield mutual funds, which only compounds the treachery.

I heard they were buying up overpriced houses with less than stellar credit with the money.
