Official word on Saved Variables Bug?

The now, well documented, Saved Variables Bug is a huge pain in the butt and not even consistent with PTS.

Is there, or can we, please get an official ZOE comment on this?

Thanks.

Addon authors should have swapped to the suggestion I made on ESOUI a month and a half ago, imo. ZO_SavedVariables is broken and untrustworthy. Only 2 of my addons still use it and that's only because I've been too busy with my day job to get around to finishing their overhaul.

Check this post. I brought this very thing up back on 5/1/2014

    Nothing official.

    Near as I can tell:
Before 1.2 went live User addons settings were sepereated by account, while ZO_Ingame settings was not.
Now after 1.2 it is inverted: Normal User Addon settings are no longer seperated by accounts, while ZO_Ingame is.

So I guess they wanted to fix ZO_Ingame not being seperated by account and accidently broke everyone elses while doing so.
Well, Sith happens. Especially during mayor content updates.

In any case you should keep up to date backup copies of your saved vars. Chances are it will be returned to the way it was for normal addons.

i would just make few backups everyday so far its been almost 2 days ppl have renamed vars and fixed and are playing with them again, if ZO decided to put this back they way it was your going to half to rename them all again and put back in @ACCOUNTNAME or your going to loose data from the last few days after you fixed your vars...

yea as im typing this all im thinking is this is ridiculous lol

Luckily I do make backups just for this reason, so I'm good to go "when/if" they fix it. I still haven't gone through and "fixed" them for the current state though. I think I'm gonna take a ESO break and let the dust settle a bit.

is it even worth looking at ESO anymore this week this patch complete messed the client and ZO is barely giving information out, really seems like they just dont care lol plus the bug list they did release is MASSIVE like serious this is a beta not retail, and again im not uesally one to complain about patches but this really is over the top, it was on the PTR for weeks shouldnt that massive list of bugs been fixed before applying it to live? LMFAO

Yeah, I would just take a ESO break for a week or so and let them sort this mess out. Plenty of other fun games out there.
