✭short maintenance supposedly only take about 2 hrs, since they are just "rebooting", as their rep said.
But, there are severe problems with last patch, the hideous lag, for example.
so I would say 3-4 hr is a safer bet, anything longer, is possible, but not likely (I wish).

Yeah, pretty much this. You have downtime for maintenance, downtime for patch (10ish hours), downtime for downloading the patch, downtime for maintenance again, and all in one week.
I enjoy playing this game, but I do think this is a little backward as far as where most games are in 2014. Especially considering the game wasn't free and the subscription isn't free. Even early/reasonable access to a horse is $20 extra. You'd think you would at least get customer service and access that is on par with other games for all of this.

I don't know how many of you work on servers but there is just not hours worth of "rebooting, maint, back end work" twice a week to be done.0 -

Yes it is frustrating, hopefully the process will continue to get ironed out.

I cant wait till there are very few patches (meaning the game is release quality and no longer open beta quality) then I can be happy with just weekly maint

First, this is supposed to be a subscription game, yet, there is EXCLUSIVE downloadable content,and to my way of thinking, that makes it a pay to win. (the Imperial race has been part of the elder scrolls from the start, excluding this race and making it a purchase makes it so.) I pre-purchased in 2012, and had I known what the suits at Zenimax were going to do,I probably would not have. Regardless, I've loved these games, and am trying very hard to love this game as well, but when they made me into a PAYING Beta tester, that almost became the last straw. My hat is off to the developers at Bethesda, they are the best, but to the afore mentioned suits, your greedy ways, will in the end, cost you at least this customer, and if anyone out there playing this game has the same feelings, probably them too.
