Consummate Honey Brittle, Mud Crab, Pudding VR5 Information

Hi everyone,

Just thought I would give some words of encouragement to people searching for the elusive VR5 purple recipes. I'm sure some of you will recognize my name as someone who was aggressively searching for the holy grail of recipes, Consummate Honey Brittle. Well, I got it a few days ago and during my search managed to snag most of the VR1 and VR5 purple food recipes.

Through zone chat, talking with guild members, logging on as many times as I could for a quick zone post at all times of the day and night I managed to get the recipes I was looking for. They should be rare, very rare. I didn't have them a week ago, but now I do. If they make everything easy, everyone will have them and no one will be able to sell anything because the market will be flooded.

Think of it as a challenge. My guess is the Consummate Honey Brittle recipe is the hardest item to get in the game. Come up with a plan, stick to it, don't get frustrated and you'll eventually get what you want.

I hope Zenimax keeps them extremely rare. Don't cave in. People who are determined enough will get one. I was able to get them fairly cheap too. It's amazing how nice people are and what they will do for you when you are searching for something. I have a few extra food recipes and might auction them off for gold or trade them for legendary crafting items.

Anyway, hang in there, stay persistent and don't go negative. You'll get what you want if you stay focused and positive.

Good luck everyone. They are out there!

I also quite like that they are rare and this is coming from someone who doesn't have a VR5 purple recipe yet.

And yes I'm sure everyone who has logged in at any time in the past week recognizes you. Glad to hear you completed your epic quest.

    Showoff.
I jest. I've said it before, but I'll say it again: I hope Zenimax keeps the purple recipe drop rate as is.

They should be difficult to acquire, but the way in which they are currently rare is extremely dumb. "I want to be a better chef, so I need to relog farm nightstands" should only be said by someone currently having a stroke.

I actually didn't farm one thing, relog to loot containers or do any of that. The people I got the recipes from didn't either. And if it helps, most of them were looted recently. Not at launch when they were dropping in the beginners zones. I wasn't playing then so I missed out on that craze lol.

Anyway, you don't need to loot one container. Just trade, barter, reach out to people, offer referral fees, etc. and you'll get the recipes you are after.

But I didn't have them a week ago. I didn't complain, I wanted them to be rare because I knew once I had them they would be worth something. I never complained or thought they should make them easier. I actually thought and still think the opposite.

They are rare indeed, but not so rare that the drop rate needs to be increase. I see them in zone chat and in my trading guilds on almost a daily basis. I've posted screenshots on another topic discussing the rarity of purple recipes to prove it just in case anyone doubted.

Also, guy who has all the things thinks all of the things should be extremely rare. I am shocked and surprised.
I agree with the OP, and I do not yet have all the purple recipes.

@Elementon‌ congrats on getting them, very jealous over here.

I just picked up 5 blue VR-5s and 2 30-40 blues in a guild store so was happy with that. But the quest continues for purples that I either find or don't have to pay ridiculous gold for. I hope to strike it rich like yourself but not sure I can put that level of commitment to finding them, lol.

Blues are not hard to get. They are as frequent or more than Daedric motifs now and sell for as low as 300g. The purples are way too elusive.....Don't mind rare things but after grinding to VR8 and only coming across one level 35 is kind of ridiculous.

Hi, I am not selling the recipes, I'm using them. I was trying to be helpful. I wanted them just as bad as everyone else, did not see them anywhere, only looted a level 35 Purple since playing and could have easily been frustrated.

Instead I saw it as a challenge. That's what makes the game fun for me. The harder to get something the more fun it is once you get it.

Anyway, just trying to give people encouragement that they are still dropping, people have them and to keep plugging away. You'll get what you want if you stay at it.

I've never even seen a purple recipe for sale, let alone found one.

What does Consummate Honey Brittle do? I understand that it increases all three stats, but by how much and for how long?

Have never seen one (VR5 purple prov recipe) on any guild store. Have seen one advertised for sale since launch, in zone chat.

From my perspective, this post/thread sounds a bit shill-ish, but I'm jaded and old, so maybe it's just me. ;)

I got the consummate honey brittle one within 5 mins of logging in after Monday's maintenance. I about had a stroke.

I had to DOUBLE CHECK I was on the right toon before I USED it.

Consummate recipes typically have a duration of two hours. They boost all three stats but the boost is always lower then the boost for two stats on a blue recipe. For instance, if a blue recipes boots Magicka and Health by 300 for one hour, the purple version of that recipe will boost Magicka, Health and Stamina by 250 for two hours. I approximated the boosts so you might see some slight differences but those numbers are close.

Thing is that you are usually capped on health and your other primary, so besides the 2 hour duration (2hour 20min with the provo skills) the blue recipe having the higher value maybe will add 10 more points of health only...so purple for longer duration and boost to all 3...or blue for boost to your main two that are already softcapped at a higher value but minimal increase over the purple..purple sweetrolls all the way. As a sorc I may not need stamina on my build, but having the extra is nice for any roll dodging and such I may have to do. Brittle is liked more because it doesnt require any provo mail materials only. Brittle materials can all be looted from containers.

Just to be clear, I did not pay millions for the recipes, as I already said in the original post. Yeah, some people are hoping they get millions for them. I'd never pay that.

Most people are pretty reasonable and ask 100K or so for VR1s and 300K or so for VR5s. Some of the recipes were given to me, so overall I spent very little when you average it out. I ended up trading some for others, selling some and so on.

If someone actually has millions and wants to spend that on them that's up to them. People can do what they want with their gold. I personally would never spend that kind of gold on a recipe.
