Gathering XP

Is there any thought of adding XP gain from gathering?
When it comes to this I can name at least 4 other games that have this already and went from not being able to get gathering XP to getting it from mining, herb picking, etc. After playing those other games I became used to it and for me it already had become a norm and standard to get XP from gathering, and in TESO it feels like a step back.

    They won't do it.. The Devs base a lot of decisions around stopping bots.. And bots love to gather.. They even do it from under the map..

    The fact you can name 4 other games where characters can get XP simply picking plants shows how trivial leveling is in those games, there's absolutely no reason for that brain-dead mechanic to be added to ESO.

    Too bad then. There are problems with bots in every multiplayer game I believe but somehow it does not keep them from having that feature.

    Well...people have been complaining about having to grind their way through Vet zones by doing quests and saying it's a horrible way to level. Some part of the players though, not all. I just thought adding this kind of XP gain, even not a big one, could actually motivate people to do some more crafting and gathering.

    Put like that the theory is sound and although I'm not against it I think it would be too open to exploitation.

    @Kyrtra‌
    One of the games you are thinking of, would that be Lotro ?
    When it was put ingame there were people complaining, and still are complaining about it.
    You see people there maxing out chars only using crafting, and I have done it just to see what it would cost and how long it would take.
    And at the same time Turbine put that ingame, they also made this smart thing in their shop, to stop you gaining xp so they could make some $£

    Personally I am against getting xp for crafting, simply because you dont get better at swinging a sword/dagger wearing an armor or using your magick by making some food or alchemy. You do get better at baking or making potions instead.

    Motivation alone is not enough. If i had an idiot with me and i motivated him, then i will have a motivated idiot to do stuff :s

    Most of us already do gather everything we come across.
    Not against different ways to build up your exp, but not this, as others have pointed out bots already infest the lower levels (and one section of coldharbour), gathering everything, this would be mana from heaven for them.

    Maybe small exp amounts for selling crafted items, but not mats, this would give a touch to the social aspects.
