Question about the craftable jerkins

I was just wondering if anyone has crafted a jerkin yet, how do you go about it? Is the jerkin a separate entry in the crafting list, or is a clickable option for the robe?

I only ask since this huge patch will probably take days to download on my connection and I am dying to know how the jerkins work. I have this fear I will have to re-research all my clothing bonuses that I already have for robes.

Anyone know yet?


EDIT: I found the answer in another thread. Looks like robe and jerkins will be linked for purposes of researching traits, so no need to research those traits again!

Correct. A jerkin and robe is just cosmetic...they are both considered a "light armor chest," and therefore, no need to research the new craftable item.

I wondered for a long time why jerkins would drop but we couldn't make them. Glad we can make them now.

I just hope there's an option to which you can 'convert' between the two.

Yup, the jerkin is a separate option beside the robe in creation, but it shares all of the traits you've researched with the robe. I didn't see an option to convert a robe to a jerkin or vice versa. Actually, we might have to start calling them shirts, as the one that I crafted was called a shirt.

I just wish there were some without the giant tassets suspended in mid air several inches from the hips.
