For the love of the divine what the hell is going on? Are we even going to be able to play this game at all today? I can understand a few hours, but over 8 hours?! Thats a little ridiculous. Sorry, but this is a little frustrating for a guy who only has today off...

✭I would love to know why it's taking so long also. It's good that they are posting a timeframe, but this is way too long. So how come??? Will all big updates be a whole day of missed time?
so far all big patches take more time, and this once took longer than the last. Not sure if this implies a trend for technical reasons. -

Sorry to have to mention early stages of WoW, but during that time it was common knowledge that you probably wouldn't get to play on patch day till late at night. These things take time. At least they are trying to do it right. There's always the chance that the fixes they try to apply may end up breaking other unexpected things and they have to extend the maintenance to deal with it. This isn't that odd for a major patch for an MMO. Just try to be patient

Things don't always happen as expected. I wouldn't complain about 1-2 days out of a month taking a little longer to play. If it's still a problem ask them for your dollar back, because that's what you are "Losing" for not being able to play an entire patch day. -

The reason "ppl try to defend this game with mistakes wow made" is to show how a major company, with now years of experience in the MMO field started off in a similar pattern. To expect a company, who has never produced an MMO before, to be perfect is illogical. They will have some kinks for sure, and eventually they will work out a way to be even more productive. Yes, as of right now their communications department is a little lacking, but when you consider there's normally only one person trying to communicate with EVERYONE on the forums (Jessica) that's a lot of work for one person. She tries to convey as much information as quickly as she can, but by herself there will always be things she misses.
And a lot of the time a programming problem can take longer to explain to someone than it actually takes to fix it, so instead of wanting to know what's wrong we should be wondering about the time frame. Of course this in itself is just as hard to determine as some problems seem simple, but end up having a complicated solution.
