Every mmorpg developers do it. It is always a pleasure for developers to show the data in the first months.
I suppose they will talk about it soon?

    Any MMO will brag and let everyone know is numbers are doing well.

    To be fair, you should expect a great fall of players when a MMO first releases.

    Give it three more months. By then we should know some numbers, good or bad.

    They don't have to as others said. What's the point? When they are doing an advertising campaign, it will be good to include but otherwise what is the point from them and for us? It won't change my game whatsoever, as I will be playing it regardless. Activision-Blizzard is publically traded on the NASDAQ and they have to disclose those numbers to the public.

    best in slot: is the armor, weapon, clothing look, pet, or no pet, jewelry, race, class, skill choices, amount of DPS, and skin color best fit to you and the way you wish to play and makes you feel good and performs what YOU think it should be.

    worst in slot: what you read in zone chat, and forum comment, and forum thread, and you tube video, and live streamer advice, and class rep advice, and guild chat advice, and whisper told you to wear, and use for skill, and dress like, and use for weapon and armor.

    This is a cop out. There is no "guessing.". No numbers = bad.

    SWTOR released numbers when they were around 2 million and then again when they were almost down to 1 million. EA has proven that they don't have to disclose the exact number of subscribers in their quarterly reports (because they haven't done so in a while), so even whey they were releasing the 1.2 million figure, that was considered "good" in the current market.

    Absolutely false, NOT every MMO development company discloses sub numbers. Blizzard does it to "brag" and they're pretty much the only company who acts that way. It's literally none of yours or my business how many paying accounts ESO or any other MMO has. If the game keeps going then it has enough subs, period end of story.

    No they don't, the only MMOs whose publishers report such numbers are those which are publicly quoted companies and have to report them for regulatory reasons.

    Most MMOs aren't published by such organisations, ZOS is one that doesn't have to so they don't.

    MMO's never do unless your blizzard and you had ritchtello lying to investors they had 12 million subs, when it was actualy accounts.
    LOL, clueless WOW haters .. if Blizzard HAD lied to the investors they would have been nerfed to the ground by the financial authorities.

    Please, if you have an anti-Blizzard agenda, post something credible.

    You do not need numbers it hit the bargain bin in under 60 days what does that tell you? If that is not enough get on line during what should be a high traffic time and see how long it takes to get a group for a quest dungeon. Zones are empty

    Because when it comes to business they go by quarters. Game started in the middle of the second quarter, so they probably wont release anything til fall.

    As noted earlier, most MMO publishers don't actually release numbers, especially if they aren't publicly-traded entities.

    That said, I'm guessing that they won't declare numbers until after the console version is released. It makes no sense to say anything before then.

    Quest dungeons are also empty because players know they don't get any XP from completing them. Such a shame too - it's good content.

    First months? Free month, time to pay the majority have left. Right now I am under the impression that ZOE is doing it's best trying to attract new customers on the console and further trick and extort money from the PC population to pump it up so it isn't so dead.

    But if you want them to go up and outright lie to you like WoW does for it investors? I really wouldn't understand why?

    This, exactly. They killed off arguably one of the best MMO's ever, SWG, in order to make room for that god-awful SWTOR that went free-to-play in less than a year.

    What should be more concerning and a bigger question really is why have they not released sales numbers. This is something that everyone does publicly traded or privately owned. Games love to throw out big, round numbers for some good 'ol fashioned chest bumping.

    We have seen nothing of the sort with this game. That is more telling to me.
