Light armour

I keep hearing how it's pointless to go anything but light armour post v 10, and particularly for trials, I even had someone say if you haven't got light armour son't even bother. Now don't get me wrong for most classes sure light armour is key, but why have hte fevs apparently accorfing to all I hear now made it just the only armour you can wear. I wouldn't of been that pissed off if they would have told me that it was the only armor you need v10+, I wouldn't of spent so long on medium oand heavy on my bightblade and Templar, v1 and v2 by the way, but to find out I have pretty much wasted my time doing anything but light says 2 things to me: a) they have messed up in overpowering light b) they have messed up in underpowering medium and heavy armour for other classes.

So long story short why in the what and whyhow would you let one armour dominate, and why wouldn't you tell everyone not to bother with heacy post 50 because it's all shite?

We've been asking that question since the early beta testing when it was established that this would for all intents and purposes be elder mages online.
Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

Veteran Levels do not increase your caps, so it is easy to even get to Armor hardcap with VR12 light armor and class buffs.

Also for the time being mana skills are more powerfull then stamina skills.

Note that this is not the intention of the devs. They are currently working on rebalancing the classes against one another.
Afterwards they will have time and a common baseline to balance PvE content and Stam skills too.
The current misbalance is nothing but the totally expected birthpains of a MMO still in it's 3rd Month.

Fair enough, but why are they not changing it then? Might as well have just light armour then, the other armours are useless. I think they have a light armour fetish, I mean heavy armour doesn't even inconvenience you when you sneak, and let's face it anyone who has actually worn some sort of heavy armor knows, if you are trying to be quiet in plate metal, you are on to a loser, you might as well walk around bangina plate with a sppon for all the sneaking you will get done. I know it is not a new issue I just wonder why they seem so loathe to make armour balanced and realistic. And why they are letting people mince around in armour types which serve no practical purpose to anyone at end game. If it's such a known issue, why are you ruining the game for people who spent so damn long playing in different armour, only to find they were wasting their time?

They are. They just don't want to make sweeping changes. Small steps instead. Medium armor is getting stamina cost reduction at first. And i bet that's not where they will stop.

That is the sixty four thousand dollar question, isn't it? Got a magic 8 ball? It might be more forthcoming.

Ok wel that is heartening but it does not need sweeping changes after 4 months, it could of been done by baby steps. But meh as long as something is going to happen because I am damned if I am playing anight blade with anything but meidum armour, and you can bite me if you don' agree. :P

No offence but they knew this long before it happened, the fact that it was not addressed is a little lazy to be frank. To find that you have spent so long doing an armour line to find it a waste of time after those months is dire and lacks forward planning. Now I would not want to call down the wrath of our gods the devs, but clearly they aren't very good at being omniscient. ;)

I honestly believe all this "Light armor is so op!" is pretty much ***. You can play the game whatever goddamned way you want, and still be viable. Light armor just happens to be the easiest way to play. *** I remember in Skyrim playing with nothing but heavy armor on all my chars because I thought anything else would get me instakilled. And then I messed around with mage armor and no armor and had a fuckton of fun because it made me play the game instead of just being invincible.

Light armor is obviously better at the moment, but every single class, every single race, every single weapon, and every single armor type can complete the game. You just need to play.

A certain mix is PLAYABLE, but it's not ENJOYABLE. Yes, you can complete content with it. Will you enjoy it? Only if you like each fight being a Boss Battle, popping top-rank potions, going all-out on timing CC...

I agree with that. Unfortunately I am bombarded on all sides by people who do not agree with that. Let's take my nightblade for example I health up the enchantments on the armour, I have 4 3 trait sets, but I have gone health and stamina, with a bow and dual wield, I use the bow at range and when they close switch to dual weild and then use magicka, so I have two stat bars to work with, this is apprently wrong, I should just use magicka and if I don't I will never get in on any trials or ever warrant attention from the ubermenschen.

It's just annoying listening to these plebs, I want to play the way I want to play, why do I have to listen to people who just want to min max everything?
