HASTE NEEDS TO BE FIXED ON BOW

please fix this issue and don't overlook it man I need this to work properly for my bow play

    I thought a player proved that it does work, but it works on the time between shots (instead of the speed of the individual shots). Which means the DPS still gets improved, but there isn't a real 'feel' that it's better.

    Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.

    He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

    This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

    no I just sent eso a email and they said there aware its not working with ranged weapons and addressing the issue like everything else

    Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

    It's been fixed on the pts for light attacks but people have reported that heavy attacks remain unaffected.

    That means it'll be fixed when it goes live i hope.

    If enough people get on the PTS and report it, then yes, it will likely be fixed.

    We can't be allowed to forget:
    Issues like this are still present in the game due to the small number of early beta testers, and their very focused, but realistically narrow, opinions. (i.e. small sample size)

    More PTS testers = A greater number of diversified opinions.

    More diversified opinions = Greater ability to formulate the objective, and subjective, player experiences, from the developer's perspective.

    Contrary to popular belief, the ESO Devs do actually listen, but solid changes require quality /feedback and /bug reports from actual gamers.
    "Actual gamers", in this context, and in my opinion, includes both "casual" gamers AND the self proclaimed "pro" gamers.

    TL;DR: Jump on to the PTS, test out the changes so far. If they do not feel like they are enough, please provide a /feedback report on your personal experience.
    Your voice is valuable, never hesitate to use it.

    I tried it on PTS last week, didn't work. Reported it, no response. Maybe it will work in 1.2.3.

    Developer Discussions page states that it is on the slate to be corrected for not just haste but the attack speed trait on bows.

    Well, I hope they listen to you all as I hope that somewhere down the line the sub will be worth reactivating after it lapses in 3 months. But maybe if I can scrounge up a new HDD I'll give pts a look.

    Tried the PTS today, Haste still doesn't work properly. Although, with attack animation canceling there's hardly any point to have an increased attack speed as no one does a light attack twice in a row which would be the only time attack speed would matter. IMO they will have to fix light attack weaving to make attack speed worth it even when it does finally work.

    I agree, melee and bow weapons need haste fixed or just sped up in general. DW still gets slow-down amidst heavy combat.

    Yes, bows need to work faster, and maybe do a tad more damage, they were nerfed too much.

    Obviously, bows in the hands of NPCs need to do less damage than in the hands of PCs, otherwise two bowmen in a NPC group can slaughter a group in no time. Which is why they were nerfed in the first place.

    The problem was never the Bow itself, it was how it was being used by NPC mobs, and Zos just nerfed the weapon. The problem is that NPCs with the right weapon comnination are overpowered, and rather than ensure the NPCs never get those combos they just nerf the weapons.

    Very good question. Ranged attack allows you to wait for target to be in a better position/facing?

    It could be multiple reasons. It could be that the NPC you're aiming at is moving so you can move along with it or wait until they come back into view. It could also be that sometimes myself I hold left click & my boyfriend isn't ready so I'm sitting there waiting until he gets into position behind the target to do one of his shadow/assassination/feed abilities & then I release the button & let it fly.

    I prefer it not too personally. Can ready my attack at my leisure and hold as long as I want, adds to the strategy.

    You can hold the release on a bow, you can't on a sword/axe etc.

    The problem is that haste does not affect the draw speed for a bow heavy attack.

    Light attacks with bows gain the speed bonus just fine. Heavy attacks are still stuck with the same length of animation time to fully charge, meaning you dont get any increase in effect with haste.

    Are you guys sure light attacks work? Can someone put up numbers? I did it with a stopwatch (no addon) and I am getting the same # of shots per 10 seconds. I see absolutely no difference when I wear full med + haste vs. naked and no haste.

    I think they intended heavy attacks not to be "hasted" but just do more damage. Which is fine. I prefer it that way actually as it makes more sense.

    But if someone can post actual numbers on light attack I would appreciate it.

    Ive already emailed them they said they are aware haste does not work with the bow and are trying to fix the issue so no it does not work

    Does it work with anything really? I mean does it increase how fast your attack animations are performed with any weapon? Doesnt seem like it to me.
    P2P offered you 'hell yeah!' moments. F2P offers you 'thank god its over' moments.

    In the upcoming patch thread, they say they are "investigating" it.

    There is a clear increase in attack speed with daggers. Even to the naked eye, but I did the stopwatch test and it is definite.

    I will be so stunned when and if bows finally fire faster? I mean since Beta right? I just don't understand why it took this long?

    Fingers crossed for Monday patch!

    IMO Bows Should have Different Firing speeds ie. the faster the speed the less the damage, the slower the more powerful the damage .. Stamina usage should work the same way ..

    Often enough I've miscalculated and in stealth been to far from the mob when the heavy attack goes off. So I have to wait and let another heavy strike wind up when properly close enough.

    It seems to me that heavy strikes, just like with the bow, shouldn't release automatically but only when you let go of the LMB. Is there some advantage to automatically releasing a heavy strike that I'm not seeing?
