Research What I Craft

I really dislike that I can not research with items I craft, am I missin g something or is it by design?

Also, items I loot sometimes can not be used for research and sometimes they can why is that?

You can only craft items with traits you have learned. As such, there's no need to research it. Between characters it works fine.

One thing that may prevent you from researching something unknown is you can only research one of a specific item (like only 1 bow) at a time even if you have the passives for 2 or 3 items researching at a time. They need to be different items (bow and lightning staff).

You can deconstruct items you craft, but the exp is so small it's not worth it.

If you managed to craft an item with a trait that means you already know that trait no need ti research it again...

1) If you've researched a trait for a certain item, you don't have to research it again for that item.

Just curious, why are you trying to research something you've already researched?

2) Some dropped items don't have traits, thus you cannot use them to research traits.

Ok now I get it Thanks....Items need to have a trait before I can use it for research...
