Campaign changes not for a while

So today on the "Upcoming Campaign Changes" (detailing how the next round of campaigns will be reduced to 5 with Vet, Non-Vet and 30-day campaigns), ZOS posted the following:

"Hey gang!

These changes are slated for the third major update to the game (not standard maintenance windows) which isn't for a while yet.

As for population being condensed and the worry of over-crowding, all the population data we've gathered so far shows that should be at least 1 campaign in both the EU and US that players can join without a queue.

Duration of Campaigns we're still discussing but rewards will be adjusted to be in relation to the duration of the campaign. We are aware of Celarus and what's going on in that Campaign.

Also note we are aware of the Forward Camp issues and Postern Doors and actively working on fixing those as well!
"

I've seen a lot of talk in zone chat about people being excited that we'll be getting these changes soon... hate to burst your bubble, but it won't be in 6-7 days like some seem to think. We'll be starting a another 90-day round of campaigns soon enough, these new campaigns aren't for several weeks if not months at least.
I'm a man of few words. Any questions?

I personally feel this is good news, although they should close 1 or two campaigns to further condense the population IMO.

Yea, although vet only/ non VR only would have been a welcome addition.

Another round of a dozen 90-day campaigns will do lasting harm to PvP in TESO. That's too many campaigns. Most will be underpopulated and dead. New players will enter them, find nothing to do, and go tell their friends that PvP in TESO is boring.

We need people to have a Wabbajack experience, with plenty of action all over the map. We do not need more Skullcrushers or other dead campaigns.

It's fine if they delay the new campaign types for several more months. But this next round had better have no more than five or six total campaigns. There aren't enough active players to support more.

If I can find campaigns that are not dead or dominated by one faction all the time, I would be fine. but the problem is, the only campaign like that, is wabba, and its almost always full:/ this population problem needs to be fixed ASAP

This isn't good news. This is ZOS going back on there original statement without giving good reason. Bad service. Plans were being made and now we have to wait again? It seems like the more major issues with the game get changed in months, but minor issues get fixed in a week.

They never said for sure that this was happening only that it could. That is not really going back on their word. Essentially they should have said nothing based on your reaction which we all know *** over even worse.

Yeah, not good news for me, pretty disappointed. I was actually looking forward to the non-vr campaign, in addition to having less campaigns that would have condensed the population.

If they don't reduce the number of campaigns, even more players who enjoy pvp will be leaving and looking elsewhere. No one likes empty, one-sided maps.

I've got to think though, we've already seen them remove the Scourge campaign, surely they will remove some more when the current ones are over?

He did answer back finally a reason as to why they cant shut down the current campaigns early. It seems if they do, right now we wouldn't get our rewards and they do not want another issue like that happened with the Scourge campaign. From his wording, it seems they are going to make sure by the time the next content patch, 1.3, is ready they will have a system in place to let us keep our rewards at that time, shut the campaigns down, start the new ones and go.

Yea.. but it wouldn't make a difference if they just shut down the current campaigns and implemented the new campaigns right after the first 90 day cycle ends and the rewards distributed.

The least they should do is reduce the amount of campaigns when the next 90 days starts. If that doesn't happen, I think it is going to hurt Cyrodiil population dramatically. Even more so, 4-6 weeks(patch 1.3) is in the middle of the next campaign cycle so it is just going to frustrate people if they close the campaigns randomly.

They really made a mistake by not having these changes ready to be implemented by the end of the first 90 day campaigns.

Not entirely sure there is a worry about over-crowding on most campaigns. There population data is correct though!! There is at least 1 campaign in both EU and US with no queue. Maybe we should consider ourselves lucky there are 5-6 that have no queue!!

With this delay, I would hope they trim the fat so to speak and shut down a few camps. I'd much rather see 3-4 campaigns hopping as opposed to just one.

But, with that being said, bring on the fixes for everything else in the mean time !

They could honestly do a quick fix of the current campaigns to breathe new life into Cyrodiil.

Delete all but 3-4 campaigns, and cut the time in half.
They deleted Scourge by "accident." Please delete 4 more campaigns by "accident" as well. ;)
That would make sure each campaign has a reasonable amount of people to guarantee it's not dead, and it wouldn't go for another 3 months.

This is pretty much how I feel Zenimax handles PvP

    Won't disagree there! Poor nonvets!
The full Vet-only one seems rather awesome, actually kind of the better idea of the two. Lately I've been wondering how well the non-Vet Campaign will really work with the way "Battle Level" can be turned off now. It seems like well-geared level 45-49 people can just turn off Battle Leveling and have Vet level stats, making it somewhat pointless. They certainly won't be VR12 level of stats threat or anything, but neither will it be as artificially evened out for pre-Vet levels as it was back in the day.

Oh well, seems like we're going to be having another 93 days until then anyway, so I guess it doesn't much matter for now.

a lvl 10 has a much better chance of standing up to a VR1 than a VR12:/ it would not be anywhere near as bad for a lvl 10 or 20 or so to face a VR1 stated/geared player than it would for them to face aVR12 stated/geared player

I disagree. The VR stat spread (about 200ish of each stat at most, depending on gear/atts) is much lower than lvl10 and VR1 difference. Their damage, hp, and armor/resists are normalized to much lower than average VR levels.

I very rarely crit VRs with anything over 1k, but low levels often eat shards that are in the 1100-1200 range (which is probably over 50% of their hp).

A really good VR1 has a chance against a VR12 (unless that VR12 is a DK, lol) and if played optimally can beat them. It's rare but doable.

A lvl 10 vs a VR1 of any class will get curb stomped unless that VR1 is afk.

A non-VR Campaign would be very welcome. There are still many folks under Level 50, and I'm sure some Vets have < 50 Alts.

Our guild has members at virtually every level. Provide interest and activity for the entire player base.

Short Campaigns add interest, especially for more casual players.

I do not mind waiting for the new campaigns, but I am very annoyed they didnt take the opportunity of the reset to reduce the number of the current campaigns. Perfect time to test future changes by reducing campaigns to 5, and we need it now, not when they get around to it.

My friends lists continues to bleed folks and one of the main reasons is your forced to play wabalag or nothing.
