Where is the 24hr advanced warning about maintenance posted? ZOS said they would give us one didn't they? Why can't I find it? Am I just stupid?

To be fair to the OP, ZOS are being entirely inconsistent. Sometimes they put up big red announcements on here the dayh before, sometimes they don't.

Moreover, since they have said several times they don't expect to always use the scheduled slot the absence of such red posts would be reasonably taken to mean there isn't going to be downtime.

So, if the NA server is down now ZOS communication failure is the reason people will be taken by surprise.

To clarify I'm not referring to the regular maintenance thread. I'm referring to a consistent notification posted 24hrs before a downtime.

Do they really need to post a 24 hour notice when the maintenance times are the same always? Also its on the forums at the top usually in red or tan.

No sign of the notice like they did last time. It was very clear for the last US and EU maintenance down times when they pushed the patch with a big red notice.

I agree with @fromtesonlineb16_ESO‌ that my understanding is that they do not always have to use the scheduled maintenance slots. So not sure whether that means we will be getting the NA server down for maintenance in a little over 4 hours (or 2 hours if they do another unannounced early maintenance) and it just is not being announced or that it means that it will not be going down.

A notice to say what they are doing would be helpful to remove the uncertainty either way. In other words a notice to say it is and what time or a notice to say it is not required this time.

Edit. I checked the post from ZOS and they did say they would tell us the day before whether they are doing the maintenance or not so we are just missing the message from ZOS that we were supposed to have received.

So this thread can be good example on all the threads complaining about not enough communication from devs/zos. If they would increase communication then it would be always expected on the level.

Not sure of the current situation of NA maintenance, so let's say there is no maintenance but because there is no big red box on forums telling if there is or isn't maintenance, everyone loses their mind.

Also if there is regular scheduled maintenance happening and they just now forgot to put it on the forum or are late with it, everyone loses their mind.

Now if they would regulary post their backlogs etc on site, forum, reddit, twitter, facebook and my god if they would once forget even one of the places or did not mention one item there again everyone loses their mind.

Or if they have a Big red box letting everyone know when scheduled maintenance is and keep to it, and put it on the launcher, and send it out in game, everyone will still lose their minds because isn't that kind of what we do?

And if they find a problem that is serious enough that patching it immediately is a good idea, you want them to wait another 24 hours to give notification that they're going to patch a serious problem? No thanks.

If they were taking down the server every single day for hours then maybe, but when they are patching stuff? Imo, no they don't need to do that. Scheduled maintenance is scheduled as noted; issue patching/hotfixes aren't. If my game is going to break when I get to a quest, I hope they do patch it as soon as possible.

That is what they are supposed to do which is the whole point of the OPs post. Maintenance is occurring right now at the scheduled time but no red box or any notice that it was going ahead. The link above in my post says they will tell us if it is going ahead or not.

It is all about communication.

No your not stupid this thread or something close will show up twice a week along with threads over time taken to do maintenance. Its just not ever going to change. This server will drop with or without notice for an unknown length of time. Just the way it is here.
