for those waiting about a month on 8 traits, i was wondering if i didn't subscribe that month and played another game, would it count? one would think the account should be active to be allowed the research.

I recently asked ZOS if research would continue if I had a subscription but was not logging in for a month (going away on a holiday). I was told as long as my subscription was paid the research timer would still work whether I was logging in or not.

So I suspect you will need to maintain the sub if you want the research clock to continue. I just need to line up a few 8 traits before going away now.

Long ago when the first 30 days ended there was a rant in the forum because someone started a long time research and when he finally started his sub the
research had not been finished. He cried for a refund and threatened ZOS to sue them and so on... But the whole thing showed without an active subscription there won't be an active research. It will be paused instead of stopped.
