ESO = ELDER SCROLLS with what we wanted all that time for many years.

Single player campaign, with some co-op on the side.

Adding in the mixture some RvR style PvP from DAOC in a grand scale battles, as side dish.
Wrap it up in great graphics and on top an amazing lore.

Served by ZoS, and consumed by us. OK. we found some pips and some uncooked stuff, but is getting better the more we eat it.

So rather ESO, than some cold soup that was left over from a previous soup that is 8 years old.

In fairness, as much as one or two things in ESo get right under my skin, it is a very good game, and I was unable to play Wildstar beta due to just feeling a lack of fluidity, and vibrancy this game has from the start. Wildstar just felt so flat, I was unable to get into it at all.

EVERQUEST NEXT

LOOKS AMAZING but combat will probably suck compared to TESO and this saddens me greatly but TESO is beyond good in its own right and will only get better.

Luckily EQNext is F2P from the get go so no doom and gloom for the forums thank god.

Idk about you guys, but I am not a fan of the WoW clone style quests (kill 20 then kill 10 then kill 30 then complete and go to the next small portion of the low level zone...) I would much rather spend an hour in different areas of the map... Plus I don't like the restraint that WoW clones bring to the class system. My friends play it and love it, but I just can't. I think I have had enough of it. Are many MMO's out really different or does it come down to visual taste... I would rather play with whatever second weapon I want. (because you know I got that cloth resto staff) I mean... The resto staff thing is bad to the point I am using it on not only my vet, but on my new characters. I can still use whatever I want for a secondary, and if I need more damage than whatever I'm using I can just switch weapons. As far as the story goes. It will get much better. After all this is the 2nd era. It has the most bloodshed and arguably most powerful people in all of Tamriel history. This game will get better, and will introduce new things into the MMO genre. It may take a while, but so far the future updates seem promising. They also seem to listen. Takes time for a dev team to get the hang of gauging out good info from players, but it will happen. Meanwhile I want to stick around and be apart of the ones supporting to make things happen instead of run away.

edited to add: and yes I did play wildstar

Looking at the WS general forum, they've got as many doom-sayers there as here.

As to preference, can't say WS interests me, even were it F2P. Cartoonish "Elves in Space" just does nothing for me.

Plus I prefer the fantasy setting over sci-fi for an MMO.

Well, they are going to add soon combat in Landmark, so you'll be able to check it out.

BTW I seen plenty doom and gloom in pure F2P games. Remember, it's the people, not the games that have issues

What exactly are these "aurin" anyways. Are they humans playing furries? Or are they some kind of human/animal mutation? Hard to understand...

Yea good luck dooming a F2P game its FREEEEEEEEEEE. They actually make MORE money than subscription based games lol.

Okay. Yeah, that's even worse. Elves in space I could almost buy, but bunny-eared humanoids? Not seeing it.

I got no idea. I'm assuming they are aliens that somehow have parts from earth animals growing out of them
