I wanted to start a conversation about healing, its what I do in games and ESO is very unique. I hear people call ESO healing "smart healing" or "game console healing".
As a Templar my main heals are:
Rushed Ceremony (main "big heal")
Regeneration (HoT)
Grand Healing (Target heal)
Rite of Passage (Ultimate)
With a little DPS / Self Heals
Mage Light
Entropy
Are you other healers slotting buffs? What heals are you using?
I really like the ability to block and the survivability of my templar in light armor, has any one tried healer with full heavy armor? Does it work or do you feel gimped?
I love that as a healer you need to move during battles, that is something I never had to do in EQ or WOW as a healer.
Some weird healing issues:
Preventative heal over times (HOTs), before you go into a battle I would like to cast a HOT on my tank that I know is going into battle... but all my HOTs are random. I tried getting close to the tank far away from the tank and it is random. The only way I can accomplish this is an AoE heal (which takes up a slot and is not powerful enough)
Healing of NPCs. Many NPCs have low health (like in Banished Cells) and when I cast a heal that "effects two targets" one of my heals is wasted on the NPC. What is even more annoying is when objects take heals... again in Banished Cells on the last boss the crystal in the final room takes all my heals.
UI updates: There are times when a player is full / 3/4 health and there is a lag spike and I will be in the middle of a large heal and my cast time is longer then the 2 seconds the next thing I know the player is dead. Sometimes a player just dies from full health (I know they could be sitting in the middle of a red circle) but there is a lag on heal bars.
Questions:
How are other healers handling spike damage?
Is anyone using siphon heals as a main healing ability?
