today i made the decision to make all of them mages..... Untill now my DK was a tank and my NB was a Bow and DW... but honestly these 2 are so underwhelming compaired to my Mage Sorcerer and Mage Templar....


So much for "play as you want". Its more tedious to do that than just make a mage and wreck everything...

Btw, they are all veteran rank, and even tho i am making this shift, both my DK and NB have little trouble overall with content.... its just not as good as the 2 mages i have...

I don't feel the same way about my characters. I have a VR8 mage and a VR4 DK........I like the DK better. I'm thinking that at VR8 my DK would destroy my mage in almost any fight, except in very wide open spaces.

Sorcerers are under powered for the VR content.

I am not referring to PVP which I don't give two Sh*ts about but the VR zones.

Ya... My sorcerer has soloed the entirety of the first VR alliences... breezing through even the Public dungoens...... Taking on even the bosses who hit for 1k+ on basic attacks without much difficulty and soloing the world bosses...

So forgive me if i think that thinking Sorcerers are underpowered in ANY fashion is a load of nonsense...

I think this game is all about personal play style. Your strengths and weaknesses will begin morphing your best style of combat, which in this case seems to be a magicka based archetype.

This is actually an excellent example of "play as you want" you are capable of taking two of your characters, DK and NB, and ultimately shape them at any point in time to whatever you want regardless of what they are now. If you decide that you would rather play a mage DK all you have to do in order to accomplish this is to simply start playing one. And now you are playing what you want to play.

Any build on any class is completely viable and useful in Elder Scrolls Online. It all comes down to the person who is playing. If you enjoy playing as a Mage then make 4 Mages and start "wrecking" everything because this is the build you are strong in. However, that does not mean that building a magicka based character is going to always be the dominant build for everybody else. Any build can be devastating for any content. It all depends on the man behind the curtain (the player).

weapon swapping in VR is fairly important. generally it is best to have a starter build, and then once you are engaged in direct combat, switch to finisher build, but this only helps for solo play in VR content against multiple adds, and finding out what starter/finisher combo works for you can be a pita.

I played my Sorcerer for the first time in a month or so yesterday (I decided to add sword and board) to the build. I do think I will be able to progress a lot faster now... (I already had both staff types and bow Max leveled).

My DK needs to learn the staff now!
