Idea on how to Increase PvE population in VR zones.

Like it or not, some people just don't like to group and that's why I think you see barren VR zones. The average gamer (non-min/maxer) finds the content too difficult and therefore they simply move on to other things. (For the record I like to group for group content).

I'd suggest letting players recruit a solo companion (like in Skyrim - Lydia anyone?) for the VR areas only. Perhaps include companion choices from NPCs already encountered in the main story (Razum-dar for example). The game already allows for certain quest companions so I think the idea is able to be implemented with some tweaking. Gearing our comps would increase the value of crafting and possibly add another money sink to the game.

I'm just hit VR 5 & from what I understand things are about to get more difficult. I will probably head to Craglorn since the VR zones are barren.

Anyway, just a thought.

    In first zones you didn't have to find a group cuz there was always someone around to group or help in a boss or dolmen fight
    VR 5-10 zones are empty they need to give players a purpose to go there or else all will power level to VR12 outside this zones

    I would got there if it weren't for the monsters being so hard to beat, takes way to long to kill trash mobs, that I dont bother to do them anymore.

    I love questing and hoped to do them all, only missing vr8-10 zones, but as it sits right now, I wont go back.

    and sadly I know lots that for this reason alone, wont either

    Nice idea. That could come with your house when you get a housecarl, like in Skyrim.

    But I would still prefer if they just toned down the mobs, 3+ packs, and healer npcs. Then it would actually be fun for more people to play in the VR7+ zones. Also, the rewards need to be jacked up: more xp for quests and mobs, exploration xp, chest xp, better rewards, more gold, etc.

    Make it worth going there (for fun and profit) to most people!

    Fun and profit is skill points AND attribute points. I'm still at ~2700 Hit points with Food and 1800 Mag/stam and all the bad guys have more than that. And the REALLY bad guys have 9-10X more than that.

    Most of us Roleplayers are taking our time. We'll all get an Alt there eventually - and then complain that there's no one around :D.

    There needs to be an incentive to be in level appropriate VR areas. Right now, there is none so players are going where the quickest path to xp is.

    I am finding the VR areas to be tedious and frustrating. I love the questing and the story but I went from playing a few hours a day down to maybe one. I feel mentally exhausted after just one hour. My incentive was to complete the maps but I can't do the Dolmens or world bosses because no one else is around which is frustrating. There goes my only real motivation.

    I could just go to Craglorn again and find a grinding group but that's just not fun for more than a day or two. A lot of us are at a point where we like the game and want to play but our options are limited to picking the lesser of two evils.

    forcing people to go to v 1 areas with no other way to progress isn`t going to get more people into v 1 areas that`s just going to *** people off for them having bad game desgin and force more people to quit .

    I know i enjoy questing but not just to get exp to lvl . years ago there were MMO `s that were filled with quests , and quests were done , not to gain exp but too get a magic sword, cloak, ring etc .

    I enjoy doing quests when it`s to get a rare item , epic weapon etc . but grinding out fed ex type quest just to get exp to level gets old , forcing people to do that just to lvl their character with no other way to progress will pretty much be the end of this game .

    Most players did not rush to VR 10 or 12, so yes there are not that many people around.

    Give it one or two more months when the non rushers made it to the VR zones.

    That said, I fully support a companion system like at SWTOR - its still the best companion system in any MMO that I played.

    you can hire mercs in EQ , a dps , or a tank or a cleric that will even rez you etc lol , having played swtor for couple months vs the mercs in EQ , EQ hirelings were better of the two .
