Only 1 buff? Can we please have a drink buff and food buff at the same time?

I've only recently started levelling my provisioning but I didn't realise you can only have either a food buff or a drink buff. Please can we have them both at the same time?

I wouldn't mind having a passive that lets you "consume food and drink" at the same time but it would make sense to have them both anyway

Yup, makes zero sense for there to be only one at a time and there needs to be other stat foods.
Is it better to out-monster the monster or to be quietly devoured?

I agree. Drink buffs are useless for a variety of reasons. I think it would be great to allow both at once, but also I'd like to see drink buffs raise both your regen rate and your cap at the same time so even if you're softcapped, you get the full bonus from the drink, making them at least a bit more viable. The main argument against drinks being useful is that you can softcap your regen making them pointless (or at least much less useful). If you could always get your full drink bonus, it would really help.

I think one consumable to stack every "X" levels would be nice.
    1 foods/1-25 lvls
    2 foods/26-49 lvls
    3 foods/VR+
Why? Because I just saved Nirn and Im a bad@ss thats why. Why shouldnt a hero Veteran be given hero like options like this?

I have a 50 provisioner, I don't think I've ever even created a drink. It would definitely be nice to be able to use both, given the limited amount of buffs in the game.

No, I think you are confusing Alchemy with Provisioning.

Provisioning allows you to make food and drink. Food gives you general flat buffs to Health/Magicka/Stamina (i.e. +115 Stamina for X amount of time). Drink gives you regen bonuses (i.e. +6 recovery to Stamina for X amount of time).

Potions (Alchemy) give you very short-term buffs to a variety of other things: crit, weapon damage, invisibility, etc. Or instant-benefits, like instantly healing X amount of health/stamina/Magicka.

As far as I know, you receive your potion benefits whether you have a food or drink buff up. However, you can NOT have a food AND drink buff up at the same time... which is simply ludicrous.

Like others - I don't bother with half the provisioning recipes, meaning I don't bother with drink. To me, food is far better, and so there's no point to even mess with the drink half of the craft - which is an example of mechanical failure on Zeni's part, in my book.

But I was completely shocked to discover that you could not have a food AND drink buff active at the same time. I think I am just used to years of having that in EQ.

drink would be a must-have if it operate alongside the food.
    drink is useless right now.

mmm.. just make it useful already.

Yeah, I think 1 drink and 1 food item should be allowed. The drinks are so underwhelming, it's not even funny.

just to add, if they want to add a brewer skill line, just to make it work on top of food, I would be fine.

Why? Most people are at their softcaps for hp/magika and regen. Maybe if softcaps were higher, it would matter.

what most? you mean the few and far from between v12s?

but agree, softcap should be higher, if not outright removed.

Because being above the softcap is better than being at softcap. Duh
Everybody is at their softcap in some stat that doesn't mean that they dont want to put another 200 points or something above it.

Well, light armor passives will softcap your magika regen at pretty low levels. I was always softcapped on either hp or magika depending on my enchants from lvl20-V12.

I guess a lot of the "less optimized" builds that work at lower levels (and are a lot of fun) could benefit from both food and drink.

Now that I think about it, I rescind my statement. I would like to see this because it makes more build viable without making the optimized builds too much stronger since they are softcapped already.

While there at it, show the freaking active buffs on the screen without having to use an add-on or go into your menus.

Your buffs are already shown on screen with the basic UI. With drinks, you'll see moving arrows on your resource bars. With foods, the resource bars that they effect will be much larger than usual. A lot of people seem to think you need FTC to keep track of this stuff and half the time it's because they don't realize there are already all sorts of graphical representations for what's going on. (i.e. Did you know that a cracked health bar means your armor has been debuffed? Or that your weapons glow red while Siphon Attacks is active? Or that there's a purple-ish filler that shows up in your health bar when you have a damage shield up? Or that your bars will glow when you have a short term buff active?)

Anyway, on topic, I used drinks all the time while leveling. They're really better for that because you want to be able to keep fighting with little down time and you're not often at the softcaps without a drink. But I agree, they're not as useful at max level. Then again, food becomes less useful as well.

I think the complaint here has more to do with softcaps than with the effects these things provide. But, to change softcaps in any meaningful way would likely have drastic effects across the board on a number of aspects on the game. Likewise, allowing us to use both a food and a drink at the same time would essentially be like adding a new armor slot or two: this would require far more adjusting than can really be justified with the argument "it should be this way because in real life we can eat and drink at the same time."

Let them frakkin' stack a little too. C'mon, a 2-50 point add on a character with 1500 health and massive regen and they think that food stacking is going to break the game? pfeh.

Right from the start when first tried eating and then flushing down that with a drink and my belly was empty from the food again I thought that maybe this is bug that you cannot eat and drink. And still hope that is the case as currently I see no point at all using drinks.

You sir have never driven on I-90 into Seattle during the morning commute. :D

I saw a woman who had to have 4 arms; she was holding her coffee, a pastry, her cell phone AND doing her mascara - while driving.

The craziest thing I saw was a guy in one car, the passenger, take a hit from a doobie, and try to pass it to the driver of the car next to him, while they were doing 70.
