AvA: What role will Cyrodiil play in the future of this game?

How would the addition of small-scale PvP affect AvA?

"This mode isn’t in the live game, as it’s something we specifically setup for small, quick matches. However, ESO is a living, ever-evolving game, and if we see lots of requests for smaller style PvP combat, it could be something we add in a later update."
The main reason I came to ESO in the beginning was because I thought (wrongly) that it would be some kind of next-gen DAoC.
I expected that we would have a fun 1-50 leveling experience to learn the basics of our class, then spend time in AvA with our guilds and other alliance members. I thought there would be a sense of faction pride.
It is my hope that Cyrodiil and meaningful AvA conflict are still going to be important aspects of ESO in future.
Who else thought ESO would have some of the better elements from DAoC? How do you think AvA will develop?
