Vampires can't feed on animals, they have to feed on Sentient Beings.

However there is no reason they can't carry bottles of blood around, heck you used to pick up bottles of blood from them in Oblivion.

Obviously it would be hard to introduce into crafting, and would it go into alchemy or provisioning. So the best option is too give vampires a blood bottle vendor.

Oh but lizard and cat people are ok? Gimme a break.
Either let me feed on townsfolk or give me more stuff to eat in the wild. I don't care what it is as long as it has a heartbeat.
You persnickety little vamps make me sick.

Argonians and Khajiit are sentient, so yes they are ok. Now where do you want that break :p
I would have no problem with you feeding on unimportant Townsfolk, so long as the don't provide quests or are shopkeepers. I also said I have no problem with vampires carrying bottles of blood.

Also I may be persnickity, oh yes I may, but I ain't no vampire.

I just want to preserve as much of the lore in this game as possible, and one of those points of lore is that when Molag Bal create Vampires he wanted them to terrorise people not cows. Thus he made so that a Vampire can't feed off animals, otherwise they would be feeding of deer and skeevers, and avoiding towns and villages.

One thing Skyrim had was the ability to charm a victim into allowing you to feed on them. That way, you could feed on anybody and not have them turn hostile afterward, so you didn't have to kill them. That could be of use here.

Oop, @NakedSnake, you're right about Interview with the Vampire. I had forgotten about that.

I was concerned with the same thing as you are. I even had a regular "customer," an enemy who was very close to a wayshrine, and I could hit him and get back to what I was doing. Then I learned something new.

Here's a thought: Stage Four vampirism isn't all that bad. You're basically more powerful, and your susceptibility to fire doesn't increase with the higher stages. I think your health regen is reduced, but you as a player can mitigate that with gear, potions, and a good roll dodge. You look a little scarier, but that's minor. Now, if you want to roleplay it, that's a different thing altogether, but otherwise it's really not necessary to stay at Stage One.

My biggest problem with feeding is how it looks. It looks more like a demonic water fountain than a vampire bite. Something looking more like a bite would make me happy.

The only thing they you gain at stage 4 is a reduce cost to vamp skills, which there are only 2. A low health regen really hurts as pots become less effective and even other players HoTs are affect. Being stage 4 is almost guaranteed to get you killed when the fighting starts.

Although it really isn't hard to feed in PvP, sneak out the keep, go to the siege in the far back, feed, stealth and slip past the zerg into the keep, if you knew how to be a proper stealth oriented nightblade, feeding isn't a big problem. Hell I feed on random enemies just to mess with them.

See, that's what I thought at first, but I swear I get killed less when I'm at Stage Four. I guess it could be my build or the fact that I as a player am just getting better at it.

NPC's don't die after feeding so The townfolk could maybe do a little animation where they fall over dazed for a few sec then get back up like nothing happened.

They way I understood the stories was animal blood isn't a nourishing as human's and tasted bad, i.e 50 year old Scotch vs. Mad Dog 20/20.
But when ya just just gotta have a fix you ignore the bottle...

If you're going to make a potion for this, I think it should require a level 50 alchemist with some hard to acquire materials. This is not something you should be able to get easily (if at all). Besides, Werewolves really need a buff before they make Vampires even better than they are now.

How does one craft 'blood'? ;) lol but I get the making the glass part though. Not sure on the blood part or hard/rare material part. At the moment, it's just more of an inconvenience and not per se life threatening.

I only stage 4 for pvp. I would love to stage 4 all the time but when grinding, the slow health regen gets pretty annoying.

I can easily feed on opposing PVP players using my clouding swarm vamp ulitimate...

I'm just wondering if you can also do the same with the devouring swarm?

or simply make it so vampires dies unless they feed within a set of time. It should be some drawback to being sick, shouldnt it?
