How about a "Double XP" weekend?

Other MMOs offer specific time periods for double XP, so do you think introducing something like that in ESO would be a good idea?

I do not see the harm in hosting such an event.

Another could be a mid-long quest that offers double exp for.. say the next two hours after completion?

This offers both a limited time quest and a cool reward?

No dice. Games generally do not hand out double realm point/ dbl exp weekends until player bases drop heavily (usually after first year, I understand it is happening quickly with ESO) and it is used as an affordable way to draw players back that may be interested in levelling an alt or new players to join to play catch up. A fair whack of us (players from release/early release) were capped in 2 weeks and went from vr10 to 12 the day of crag release. Exp is not something that is a current issue that should be being looked into.

I was 4 days played when I hit VR10 so any "lifeless," "cheat," "exploit" comments will be up to you to sling but inappropriate and false. I wasn't even the fastest within my guild by half. I actually stopped due to a few quest breaks before being able to move into vr zones.

But as a decent piece of bait for players, maybe double gold from mobs? discounts on horse? Rewards for trait research quickening? All sorts of things that could be done as an event weekend but not exp. To readily available and easy to gain with a few minutes effort.

Double veteran level xp, I'd rather 1-49 xp stay the same, all of my characters that aren't veteran are currently 4 levels above the content with no extra attempts at grinding xp.

I would like special events, like one time dungeons or special enemies, daedric summoning days. That would be cool.

Speak for yourself. I've been on since three-day early release, and my main is only at Level 31.

Double veteran points. Pre-veteran, I really don't want to outlevel content even faster.

I'd like to see the Achievements provide something like this. IE: A temporary XP (or gold/loot) boost every 500 achievement points or so.

No, but if you must, please make it for VR levels only. It's hard enough not to overlevel the 1-50 content as it is, especially if you do any Cyrodiil.

This game is meant to take a while, slow down and smell the roses. There's great humor and story in this game, and max level isn't even fully furnished yet. Double exp just ruins the immersion and the people who rush through then complain there's not enough to do (even though they wanted to bypass more than half the game with double exp)

Iam ok with some xp boosts, iam becoming tired of questing and my free time avaible is spent in Cyrodiil, that is not a good tactic to level up, but its fun.
Iam currently at R4 and i play from the 5 day early start.

Absolutely NOT!! It was their double XP weekends that actually drove me away from SWTOR. I hate the feeling of outleveling the quests and stories before I get to experience them all.

ESO already has me doing more than half of coldharbour gaining no xp because I am already VR with my characters.

I don't want to have to stop playing on weekends like I did with SWTOR because they are going to make the problem even worse for outleveling content.

Some special events that could be added.

    Double xp
(but only if some option were put in place to allow players to "hold" onto a level without being forced to level up so they don't outlevel the content. Good for speedy players or those playing catch up, but won't force players out of the content level they are in)

    Double skill xp
This one would have players just hoarding enchantment materials until it hits but then there would be a frenzy. Not necessarily a bad thing.

Double loot or a small chance at double loot.
Maybe those rune nodes have a 20% chance at having double runes? Or all gold in chests is doubled or maybe a chance at an extra item in chests.

    Guild Store Coupons
For a limited time you could get rare drops from mobs and chests which could be a ticket you can spend for 100/1000/10000 gold toward a purchase at your guild store. It's just the same as gold but only for guild store purchases. Potentially broken, but an interesting mechanic to explore.

    Limited Time Motifs
During certain events or weekends, new rare motifs and crafting stones for those styles drop. Rotate them in and out so they're never gone for good, but won't be around all the time. In general there should be way more motifs anyway.

It would certainly drive me away, I am already outleveling the quests by far and you want to make it even worse?

Tbh I have never understood XP bonus weekends, is that not the same thing as saying "we know our leveling content sucks, but hey! here you can speed through it at double speed, so don't worry!"

If a company thinks bonus XP weekends is a good deal they should just let those that hate leveling choose at character creation between a lvl 1 and a max lvl character and lets those that love the story, the leveling, the whole game and not just endgame...enjoy it fully without getting their game experienced destroyed by things like this.

Didn't the original Guild Wars do that? Not sure if I remember that correctly or not.

No, this game is far to young in age for Double xp weeks or weekends. Wait until the game is over a year old. Stop wanting Xp handed to you on a silver plate, go out there and earn your Xp.

Instead of ruining weekends, why not add a rested experience boost mechanic!

Many MMOs use it and it as it rewards everyone and doesn't tether you to a schedule.

They cannot even code in a skill point reset for when they change class abilities or other skills. How do you expect them to be able to code in double xp?

How about permanent double xp...lol. Im already v12 so I dont care, but I think this game would be much more fun if the majority of the population was V12. Right now all the players are spread out soloing VR levels, if everyone was V12, we would have high populated PvP campaigns, and lots of options to find groups for trials.

    Bring the people together!

I love double XP weekends! They make me giddy. I'm slightly cautious of the devs breaking this though and making it a no-XP weekend. ;)
