Imperial Motif

Where do I get that one? I managed to collect all motifs up to Daedric but when it comes to Imperial there's no way to find it. Or am I in the incorrect region? I'm not looking for a spot to log in and out but the zone where someone got it at least once so I can go through all containers in the entire zone. I do have IE and can convert gear but I'm a completionist...and feels dumb to pay 50k on a Imp Motif whilst Daedric is 35k. Tell me the secret! Thanks!

I'm an Imperial player and I got mine simply by opening chests and cabinets at the bank in Auridon. (In fact there is where I got most of my motifs at.) Sadly for my sake I sold it for a meer 2000 gold.

But with that said, there is no specific zone it drops in. You just have to keep looking. At this point I have collected allmost all of the common motifs (except number 2) and I have collected multiples of some that I simply can't even give away.

So people are just unlucky like that. You just got to be patient. I think too many people have gotten spoiled by WoW. They want instant gratification. But hell, I remember when vanilla WoW and playing a dwarven priest. It took me close to a year to get Benediction for my Priest. So waiting for a few months to get a motif drop seems like nothing at all to me.

It's not about instant gratification, it's about know where something can be found, no point looking for something where it doesn't exist. So you found Imperial Motif in Auridon, you mean non-veteran area?

i think getting imperial is a matter of blind luck but it falls in the same zones as the base nine

Thanks a lot, is what I needed to know. I heard rumors about it only being avaiable at VR zones. Of the 14 motifs is the only one I been missing, and whilst I witnessed 4 different vendors selling daedric motif consecutively in zone chat and not being able to find Imp motifs for sale other than expensiver than daedric I did think something was wrong.

i did receive my imperial motif in a vr zone (50++) while searching for daedric and ancient elf motifs.

i had suspected imperial edition owners could not receive them and had bught the 2 i needed. appears i was wrong.

mind you i have looted about 100 motifs (not exageratting) including about 30 of the rarer ones (11-14) and since cant just loot in one place and have a reasonable chance at one, seems imperial should be most expensive (i paid half again what i was selling the 'rares' for

I can confirm that it didn't fall in a VR realm, because I have it and I'm still level 42. I got mine in Eastmarch, no idea where though. Also, I am an imperial edition owner.

With the way motifs are dropping, only farmers really have a chance to get them. Seriously, I open every single Drawers, Trunk, Nightstand, Backpack, Urn and whatever else can drop them, but since I don't relog farm them, I'm lucky if I get one per week. At least I got lucky last week and got 1 of the 3 motifs I didn't have yet - primal. Now just Daedric and I'll be good to go (I've bought Ancient Elves and Barbaric and traded the normal racial ones). And maybe imperial, but since I have Imp. version, I can just transform stuff into it, so that's no biggie.

They've tuned the motif drops back up within the past week. Prices for the rare motifs have dropped from 100K+ to 20-30K.

My trade guilds had zero rare motifs listed for sale for weeks up until a couple of weeks ago. Now there are over a dozen listed.

I was having trouble finding the normal motifs but over the last two weeks have picked up multiples of all of them. I found them mainly in the furniture in the bank and in furniture/containers while on a quest.

I got my imperial motif in coldhabour and I have the Deluxe version of the game.
I have not see it drop in below L35 zones, but I only know 38 guild members who have farmed for it.

1 got it in a vet zone
About 30 got in in coldhabour (one got 3 copies there)
5 got in the last 'normal zone for their faction (bangkorai for our guild)
The last few had no idea , they just checked their inventory and found it was there but could not remember where they looted it from

Being an Imperial has nothing to do with it. I got the standard copy of the game and I found an Imperial motif in Auridon's bank. But that was way back before all the nerfing of the drop rates happened.

I found the this motif in either Stonefalls or Deshaan in the first week or two since early access, but it is definitely very rare, comparable to a Purple recipe in my experience. Never got another one since then. On the other hand, the normal and veteran motifs drop much more frequently in comparison.

Scroll down until Exploration & Itemization and cry if you don't have it or any to sell, or rejoice if you do have one or more to sell. At least ZoS is finally admitting that Imperial is in fact the rarest Motif in the game. Now I REALLY wish I had bought a few back when they were 2K or so, when we all laughed at that price in zone chat, who's laughing now.

So Imperial Motif > Daedric because they want to make you purchase the IE? How hard was to put Imp Mot in Cyrodiil only? I dislike that strategy of cash grabbing but oh well...apparently the Imperial Armour is way superior to an armour crafted by demi-god beings.

Having the CE/IE copy of the game only allows you to craft Imperial if you ARE Imperial, any other Race has to find the motif just like everyone else. CE allows you to turn your gear into Imperial then have alts wear it but you cannot even trade it to other players. The Imperial Motif has always been the most rare of the books but ZoS is just now admitting it. Also, not many players create 8 Imperial characters "just" so they can bypass spending a ton of in game gold to buy the motif, lol.

Imperial Motifs can be found anywhere, however it's even more rare than the other rare motifs so you'll really need some luck.

The patch notes show how rare Imperial racial motif is

Updated the coloring of racial motif books so that their color better represents their rarity:
Playable race motifs (except Imperial) are blue.
NPC race motifs (Primal, Barbarian, Ancient Elf, and Daedric) are purple.
The Imperial racial motif is gold.

Iv heard that it drops in 1-50 zones, so non-vet zones. but I myself have yet to find it, so idk

Imperial used to sell for less before they nerfed drop rates because
a) most people hadn't noticed it was lower rate and assumed it was on-par with the other 10-13 recopies
b) People who bought IE can just have their items crafted in any style then convert them to Imperial.
c) Daedric/Ancient Elf were more in-demand by appearance and lore.

But yeah, 2x to 3x the price of Daedric wouldn't be too much out of place now. And once they start displaying it as a gold recipe and everyone realizes it is indeed rarer, it'll probably increase more.

Found Imperial yesterday, in Auridon, in a cave, on my lvl 12. First #10 one in over fifty of the #1-9 motifs(on 7 chars played to various lvls). They are out there and just seem very rare/random.

Just as long as you realize you can't sell anything you transform because it becomes bound to your account....

Yep, Imperial apparently can drop anywhere, just really really rare. The fifth or so Motif I found happened to be an imperial one, (found in the first AD town, Vulkhel Guard or whatever?) Didn't realize at the time how rare it was, so just plopped it on my Clothier. Thankfully, my blacksmith is an imp so gets it by default, (still need for my woodworker, but considering what they go for, since I don't particularly like imp appearance, probably better just to sell)

Yes, sorry I should have clarified. Starter level Auridon not VR.

The price you give for the rare motifs is actually on the high side now. I have seen them on sell in zone chat for as little as $15k.

I am an AD and found 2 of these so far. 1 in the Stormhaven V6 area Wayrest bank and 1 at the Auridon zone Vulkhel Guard bank.

I remember that, remember when everyone abandoned the benediction for a green drop in TBC? The only ones doing those quests were the dedicated all made the harder as no one would bother running those over mobbed difficult instances where on the other hand the expansion provided easier and accessible instance loot.
