Guy had said on the boards about how we shouldn't have been able to go into the other alliances. aka vr content. At first, I was one of those who disagreed. But you know what? I think this game would be better off with 50 being the max level. I think they made a mistake giving us anything more. The VR content takes the fun outta the game anyway. Too many people do not like the gradually difficulty increase. And what are they going to do by VR20? Make the solo content so hard you'll have to have two people in all gold gear to beat it? I don't think they thought this through.

I'd rather people make alts for the other content and have free skill points transferred for account sky shards than be able to just do all the quests from the other alliances too.

I also think in situations like the elusive mist speed nerf they should've just made horses faster. I think when you take away something after beta like that it really upsets people. Like the recent bolt escape nerf. Those sorcs that used that probably had a lot of fun using it. ZoS just took it away from them because ZoS didn't have enough foresight to know it would be abused in a way they wouldn't approve of.

I would've also put pvp or alliance points tasks in places other than cyrodiil too. And forward camps would be very easy to get. One thing that kills pvp is when the casual soloer wants to go help and gets kill by some other guy and then has to run all the way back. There actually should be forward camps at any area on the map that has action with your alliance. For instance, the Cyrodiil map currently shows when there are mild skirmishes happening right? Well, it should spawn forward camps there for up to 15 minutes after. So what there's forward camps being spawned? Would you rather people not participate due to impatience or allow a convenience that would bolster the population?

Also NPC skirmishes should happen. It'd be nice to see NPC sieges and action to make Cyrodiil not so dead. The potential with that idea is just sickening. Think about it. Hell, I love watching npcs at war. I'd summon 100 against 100 in Morrowind in the city of Balmora just to see them go at it.

Come on guys, what's some other stuff they should do? Let's think in terms of 1-50 + PVP and incorporating PVP/AP into PVE (optional) as kinda like a citizen's duty to their alliance. In this way it would tease the PVE people into cooperating and helping their PVP counterparts more. Or maybe PVE could contribute in some way. I wouldn't mind donating my points to help the cause.

I'm interested to hear your ideas guys. So what if none of this will ever see the light of day. Let's hear them. I know you have some good ideas up there. *knocks on you brain meats case* Going to get groceries, I'll check back in a bit.

    I agree, at 50 and beyond, why not have a PVP phase in all alliance zones. Maybe enter those phases through Cyrodil?

    K/D ratio would be a bit build-based in this game. If classes were static abilities then maybe, but all I can see happening here are people downing others with crappy ratios like with other games. Sure they can have it, but don't publish it openly to others.

    You do realize that the only reason we have VR1-10 is because of all the raging that went on in late 2012 and early 2013 about not being able to play the whole map, not being like Elderscrolls stand alones, not seeing the other zones on one guy… thread after thread of spew. So much so that, along with first person mode and any race/any faction, led to ZOS creating a way for you to see it all on one guy. It showed up out of nowhere. "Hey, we have this thing called Veteran Ranks. See the world…"

    You can tell anyway. The VR zones all refer to you as falling from the sky, being rescued, soulless, you still fight anchors, Molag Bal is still coming for ya...

    Just saying… careful what you wish for.

    Personally I like it, I go slow. People that want End Game super fast or are on toon #2, #3, … hate it apparently.

    If they are going to stick with the current format then they need to add a spy quest line to vet levels (and a good one at that).

    I like the idea of some instanced PvP locations in relation to a spy quest line. Would give some unique vet only, small PvP combat situations. There are all kinds of quest possibilities in a format like that too.

    You know they COULD add a Daedric faction for us evil characters who want to be dremora and wear black and red daedric armor. We could be deployed through Anchors or portals into Cyrodiil.

    You know enslave mankind, etc. Nothing out of the ordinary.

    No. That is a game I'd never touch, let alone pay a sub for. It would be a tie for how fast I'd drop the game if it went free to play or started using any suggestion above.

    I think Tamriel in general lacks the whole war theme. Yeah, you quest against each of the other factions in the name of your own, but a raiding party can't come and hold a town, requiring champions to come and liberate it from the clutches of the Dominion. I miss that feel of danger like in other games, when you're questing in a zone and you don't know if you're gonna come across a group of enemy players while you quest with your friends. I miss that light that sparks when you see an enemy player on the opposite end of the path, and both of you draw your steel and prepare for combat. Besides the quest-driven story and Cyrodiil, nothing suggests that you're at war with two other factions. I think the option to attack enemy capitals would be incredible. If you could zone in on your campaign and queue for city raids within the campaign, and killing the enemy faction leader(s) could give you a substantial buff for the war effort.

    K/D R would just reflect who got the last hit instead of who was the better player.. Its GARBAGE. I am for open world pvp.

    Same , only played one game like that.

    Spent a night getting a new item , still low lvl mind you , got out of the cave , got killed , lost the item.

    Unlogged , never even tried playing again.

    With that said , if they wanted to add a NEW place for this , then yeah , it is the people that go there that will need to deal with it , but they better not change ANYTHING already in the game with this.

    I also dont agree with the VR change , mostly because i think it is a bit late for that , i got my templar to vr10 , if they rolled her back to lvl 50 , they would need to give me something completely amazing in return to keep me still playing this game.

    Buff/nerfs to skills always happen , unless they are totally wrong , like nerfing the already horrible dps the templars got , then people should be able to deal with it. If they made small changes to the templar heals because they thought they were too strong , then i would understand , even if templars are not the best hearlers.

    Heh, this will be the third thread I suggest this in. Separate the Vets onto separate servers where the original PVE content is complete. Then make it all quests based around Agents Provocateurs and Counter-Espionage with CTF Games in each region every week?fortnight?month? That way people get to stick with their favourite Alliance, use disguises etc.

    I think the problem is people just get too butt-hurt over change.

    Its like the Matrix. Everyone just wants to protect the "status quo". Your comments about bolt escape are a good example.

    Bolt Escape wasnt taken away. Nor was it rendered unusable. It was made not spammable. While I agree that nerfs are bad and shouldn't be applied as liberally as they are outside of beta, I also think people blow "changes", however small, out of proportion.

    I agree with you about the VR. As someone else mentioned it was "tacked on." Comically enough though 90% of the changes that people have problems with came from "player feedback". Yet everyone accuses Zeni of not listenining and having *** customer support.

    They tried to cover it with a "you're incognito" storyline...but doing all of the quests for opposing factions - combined with the "join up to 5 guilds" aspect - only works to erase any sense of loyalty to anything.
    This is all part of the game.

    Most PvP games that implement K/D give the kill to the player that did the most damage. Then simply add an assist for kills you assisted with.

    I enjoy competitive PvP and is it wrong to wish for such an aspect out of this game? It has no true impact on players that are not competitive. They can ignore the numbers if they chose to do so.

    Never said they did, just stating why they did it.

    If they did what you are suggesting, what… you get to pick the side you want to PvP on when you go to Cyrodill? How do you even have a side? Red/Blue… etc. Isn't that what Guild Wars is?

    Their original design was for a real faction/race pride feeling… and then duke it out in Cyrodill. Instead, they got trapped into bending to popular outcry and now we have what we have.

    Is what it is.
