harvester addon help or alternative?

I was using harvestmap and it was great but with the last two patches from ESO it no longer works. do I redownloaded it but still doesnt work. the FAQ doesnt help because there is no step by step as in download this then that, then do this and what he says to do isnt possible...such as replacing some text with my user name. neither his text nor my username is in the file. and honestly I dont want to have to mess with crap like that. I like a neat clean add on with a database...then you activate that database and viola you are good to go. like curse has for WOW with gathermate.

Anyway there can be a one step alternative that doesnt mean I have to download 4 files and then try to figure out which one to make work? I tried all the lines outta his instruction and it said harvester wasnt activated but he gave no line to activate it. and its checked in my addons menu. totally freakin stumped.

Couple of questions:

1. Just to double-check; we are talking about the add-on called HarvestMap, correct? Or are you referring to a different one?

2. How are you updating the add-on? Are you doing it manually, or are you updating it through an add-on manager like Curse or Minion? (I personally use Minion, I don't know what add-ons are available through Curse)

3. In what manner is it not working? Where does it say that HarvestMap isn't activated? You said it is checked in your Add-ons menu, correct? Is it showing up in your Settings menu (if it is HarvestMap, it will just say HarvestMap)?

I'm not clear if you mean that the add-on itself isn't running at all, if the add-on is running, but it is not showing the map pins, if it is running, but not loading your old data, or something else.

4. What do the first couple lines of the C:\Users\[YourUserName]\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\SavedVariables\HarvestMap.lua file say? The HarvestMap.lua in the SavedVariables folder, NOT the one in the AddOns folder.

mine is still working 99% fine, very very occasionally it doesn't add a node I discover, usually this is when a node is almost on top of a other node.

I am experiencing an issue running HarvestMap- possibly the same as what EternalDiva may been describing. The issue I am experiencing is that the map which should appear simply does not appear. I installed it manually and then installed Minion and tried re-installing running HarvestMap. I gathered resources at several nodes and the map still did not appear. Also made sure that the compass was set to "ON". When that didn't work I toggled it from "ON" to "OFF" and back "ON"-still no luck. I did not perform any steps related to adding .lua files, etc as this was purported to be not required unless I had pre-existing data to import. Any advice you can provide would be appreciated.

Im using minion now. I was doing it manually. that being said I believe harvestmap is no longer being updated. in fact it seems like a lot of the addons are not being updated and are outdated with every single minor rollout ESO does. Frankly frustrated with how often they go out of date and not sure if its a code issue or a dating issue in the code (not a developer). that being said--totally appreciate the few addons I could find that work. just wish that ESO had as many followers creating addons as WOW does. guess it takes time tho. I mean WOW has been out mega years.
