Templar Healing Ritual Cast Time

Templar Skill Healing Ritual I - IV (unmorphed).

Tooltip states 2 second cast time.

(With the animation) the cast is actually around 3.2s.

Also, critical value seems to be incorrect. Tested without buffs, and mine heals for 802 and only crits for 885.

Breath of Life heals for 781 yet crits for 1105 (on me, using a 100 cast sample).

Says to me Healing Ritual is borked.

Hmm regarding the cast time, this seems to be a generalised problem. I have no problem with this game having no GCD, but then it really needs someone at ZOS with basic arithmetic to go through the actual activation time of abilities (cast time if present + animation window) and balancing the damage/healing coefficients accordingly.

All abilities which are not instant cast are broken due to inaccurate cast times caused by animations.
End the tedious inventory management game.

Im ok with the cast time if they would simply make the heal worth it as its one of our best GROUP based heals for PVP.

I imagine the "borkedness" where your crit value is very low is POSSIBLY due to the +30% to self not being applied WHEN it crits creating a weird value.

I didn't know about this, thank you.

Just ran a couple of little tests with Ritual of Rebirth.
    Description Casting Time: 1.7 s.
    Actual Casting Time: 2.6 ± 0.05

If you can be anything, be kind.

the crit inconsistency is due to a known bug (fixed in 1.2)

Only instance cast healing is worth it at the moment, I don't bother with any spells that have a cast time as you can't block etc and as there is +1 second for any spell that has a casting time for the animation, they fastly become very useless. Plus you can be interrupted and the end game instances, lots of bosses cast interrupts which then puts you out of 'casting' for a few seconds

    My healing build I use
    (1) Quick Siphon
    (2) Mutagen
    (3) Purifying Ritual
    (4) Breath of Life
    (5) Depends on the instance (but normally Unstable Core or Inner Light)

In my view, Healing Ritual and its morphs are not worth loading

I don't even use it because I hate the cast time during which time someone might die already :D
    Rebuilt - Aldmeri Dominion

    Kaia Linnea - templar
    Ruusu - sorcerer
    Aino - nightblade

Not using it too, the small hits of grand healing morphs are generating more ultimate, because they crit more often, use the ultimate for replenishing barrier to get a bit of magicka back, also the healing springs morph is a must have for templar healers, only heal that actually allows your magicka to get up a little bit.
To be fair, I am only using Breath of life, all other templar heal skills are atm to weak, but that has his use mostly for failers, otherwise mutagen/rapid regen and healing springs are enough.
Warden Main apparently... 7 Wardens currently, otherwise a healer of every class.
Mostly active in No CP PVP on EU, blaming the buffbot meta in pve.
I want to feel like I am saving somebodies life, not like I am carrying amunition for them...

I only use Breath of Life and the Ultimate from the Templar line. Everything else is Restro. Circles and Circles and Circles. Use Breath only when someone is dropping like a rock and not in the circle and then I scream at them for having to waste Magicka saving them. I want to add the Extended Ritual to the cycle but bar switching is tricky sometimes, tricky as in doesn't work instantly at times.
