Two handed weapon in both slots question.

Does it gimp you stat wise?
Looking to start crafting my own gear for specific set bonuses and it dawned on me that by using two staffs I'm missing out on 2 potential set bonus spots and also 2 gear spots for additional stats.

Is it a big enough hit to maybe ditch the second staff for S+B or dual wield

I have two handed and don't use any of their skills. Just not worthwhile for me.

None of them work for me. Executioner is poor in comparison to killers blade and momentum seems pretty poor. Upper cut is good in pve. But forget it in PvP.

You do lose a potential set item slot when using a 2hander instead of 1h/shield or dual wield, and you also lose the extra stats/enchantment bonus. However, things like traits and enchantments seem to be twice as strong on two handed weapons.

That said, this game heavily favors magicka based builds right now, so you're probably best off using a staff (restoration or destruction, doesnt matter which) and light armor over medium/heavy armor and melee weapons or a bow.

Currently I run a 2handed / bow combo as a dragonkight. I have not ran into any issues while questing / dungeoning.

The only issue with 2handed that I might see as far as using it as primary AND secondary, is some of the harder bosses... even the quest bosses, are extremely tough in the veteran areas to take on toe to toe with a melee weapon. It's best to have a ranged or healing weapon as secondary for these areas.
